Within the context of a client and family centered care model and in accordance with established vision and values of the organization, in collaboration with the care team, school/child care staff , provides behavior management support to children and families by developing positive skills that increase the child’s chance of success to assist them in managing/stabilizing/regulating behavior and emotions. Works collaboratively with the community to build partnerships and identify community resources. QUALIFICATIONS:Education & Experience Grade 12. Completion of a recognized Child Care Course. One year recent related experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Certificates in CPR, First Aid and Foodsafe. Valid BC Driver’s License and access to a personal vehicle.Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesKnowledge of child development.Ability to establish and maintain rapport with children.Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.Ability to work independently and in cooperation with others.Ability to operate related equipment.Ability to organize and prioritize.The hours of work including days off and work area may be subject to change consistent with operational requirements and the provision of the Collective Agreement and applicable statutes. Successful applicants may be required to complete a Criminal Records Review Check.
