Job Description

About Blackbird Health

Blackbird Health is clinician-founded, owned, and operated by dedicated professionals. We believe that providing the best care for children starts with building the best possible team. We deliver virtual and in-person mental health services across Pennsylvania, Virginia, and New Jersey—and we’re growing into new markets in 2026.

At Blackbird, we take a whole-child approach, looking at how the brain, body, and behavior interact to address the root causes of challenges, not just the symptoms. Every role matters here, and you’ll join a collaborative, supportive, and innovative team that’s shaping the future of pediatric mental health care. If you’re passionate about helping children and families while growing your career, Blackbird is the place to make an impact.

Join us and help change mental health care for children for the better!

Blackbird Health is looking for a Child and Adolescent Therapist to join our team remotely. You'll collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to ensure the highest quality of care and be empowered to make a tangible difference in the lives of young patients and their families.

We welcome applicants who are independently licensed in any state — we will sponsor licensure in one or more of our operating states so you can hit the ground running with a full caseload.

Why You'll Love This Role

This role is a great fit for clinicians who want:

  • A predictable base salary with the ability to earn more by taking on additional clients
  • Part-time W-2 employment with full benefits — healthcare, 401(k) and generous paid time off
  • A remote model with flexible scheduling that fits your life
  • A collaborative, mission-driven team that supports your growth
  • Licensure sponsorship — we'll cover the cost of obtaining licensure in one or more of our states so you can expand your reach without out-of-pocket expense
  • The chance to make a real difference for children, adolescents and families through integrated care

Blackbird Health

About Blackbird Health

Blackbird Health offers virtual and in-person mental health services for children and young adults across Pennsylvania and Virginia, with plans to expand to new markets in 2025. Our services include comprehensive evaluations and assessments, medication management, and therapy services.

Our whole-child diagnostic approach reveals the full story behind each child’s challenges, allowing us to address both the symptoms and their underlying causes. By looking at a complete picture of what is impacting a child's wellbeing, Blackbird Health provides precise care that leads to lasting, meaningful outcomes. Grounded in deep respect for each child, empathy for all parents, and compassion for every family, we help children, teens, and young adults face their mental health challenges so they can spread their wings and fly.

The unique Blackbird Health assessment begins with a thorough evaluation that takes into account all factors contributing to a young person’s mental health and development—including speech and language, genetics, behavior, cognition, psychology, and more. We apply a developmental lens to every aspect of our evaluation, recognizing that mental health concerns must be understood within the context of a child’s developmental stage. This leads to more complete diagnoses and understanding of causes. Together with the family, we then create a treatment plan aligned with their goals. Once the plan is agreed upon, we match each child with the right provider and sequence care to build effectively over time.

Ongoing care is at the heart of what we do. We stay closely connected with families through regular check-ins to monitor progress and make adjustments as needed, ensuring continuous growth.
