
We are seeking a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist to join a freestanding behavioral health hospital in Norfolk, Virginia. This opportunity offers flexible weekend call coverage and independent contractor compensation models, allowing you to focus on providing high-quality inpatient and residential psychiatric care for children and adolescents within a structured, multidisciplinary environment.
• Employment Type: Independent Contractor• Schedule / Hours: Weekend call coverage• Call: Weekend inpatient and residential coverage• Patient Volume: Children and adolescents (ages 5–18)• Location: Norfolk, VA• Practice Setting: Acute Inpatient, Partial Hospitalization (PHP), Residential Treatment• Support / Care Team: Multidisciplinary clinical and administrative team
• Provide psychiatric evaluation and treatment to child and adolescent inpatient and residential patients• Deliver weekend call coverage and clinical oversight• Collaborate with physicians, APPs, therapists, nursing staff, and support personnel• Manage day-to-day clinical responsibilities, including treatment planning and medication management• Document care accurately

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school• Board Eligible or Board Certified in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry• Active or eligible Virginia medical license• Minimum five to six years of psychiatry training and experience• Meets credentialing requirements for participating physicians
• Opportunity to practice in a highly structured pediatric behavioral health setting• Engagement in a teaching-focused, holistic treatment model• Collaboration with experienced child and adolescent behavioral health professionals
