Job Description

AOTE Attendant

Responsible for promoting a fun and relaxing atmosphere for guests in all recreational activities and areas by expressing an upbeat and enthusiastic attitude. Assist with activities including snorkeling, kayaking, underwater photography and videography, botanic park (terrestrial) tours, sustainable living lessons, arts & crafts, etc. Explain and promote the rules and regulations of the recreation facility intended for the safety and welfare of guests and members.  Observe activity in the recreational facility and respond appropriately in accordance with local operating procedures in the event of an emergency. Ensure preparedness of program with any necessary materials and have confidence in guiding the group at all times

The ideal candidate must:

  • Be passionate about facilitating activities for children aged 4 and older, and helping to teach people about the wonders of the Cayman Islands
  • Have experience working with children ages 4 to 18
  • Act as a supporting team member on snorkeling and kayaking activities with older children and adults
  • Must be a capable swimmer and snorkeler, preferably with CPR/first aid and lifeguard skills
  • Provide information to guests about available recreation facilities, activities, lessons, and equipment.
  • Encourage and recruit guests to participate in recreation activities.
  • Register and schedule guests for activities by recording information using the appropriate method
  • Speak to guests and coworkers using clear, appropriate and professional language.
  • Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time or for an entire work shift.
  • Have the ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Be Able to energize the Ritz-Carlton culture and mission of Ambassadors of the Environment

Personally contribute to the youth program’s team goal of providing fun, educational and caring services to the children of members and guests, in a warm and welcoming environment. Build rapport with and take a genuine interest in all children and parents utilizing the club’s child activity services. Participate in everyday activities such as organizing arts and crafts time, leading games, reading stories and singing songs. Promote the club’s youth programs and activities and assist parents in program registration. Help keep facilities and equipment clean, neat and well maintained.

Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager; complete safety training and certifications. Follow company policies and procedures; ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional; maintain confidentiality of proprietary information; protect company assets. Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards; anticipate and address guests’ service needs; assist individuals with disabilities; thank guests with genuine appreciation. Speak with others using clear and professional language; answer telephones using appropriate etiquette. Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others. Comply with quality assurance expectations and standards. Visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines; reach, bend, twist, pull, and stoop; move, lift, or carry objects weighing less than or equal to 35 pounds; stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time. In addition some states may have additional licensing/registration requirements to be considered for this position. Perform other reasonable job duties as requested.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education: High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.

Related Work Experience: No related work experience.

Supervisory Experience: No supervisory experience.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

License or Certification: CPR Certification

First Aid Certification

Recreation Equipment

Any certification or training required by local and state agencies.
