Scope of Work
The Child Activities Assistant provides exceptional customer service within the child watch area by ensuring a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment for children while their parents utilize the wellness center. This role is responsible for overseeing child check-in and check-out procedures, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring children are properly supervised at all times.
The assistant organizes and participates in age-appropriate recreational activities such as games, reading, crafts, and group play to create a positive experience for each child. They maintain a clean, safe, and organized play environment by routinely sanitizing toys and equipment and monitoring the space for safety concerns.
This position requires strong observation and communication skills to appropriately interact with both children and parents, address concerns calmly, and respond effectively in any situation, including administering Basic Life Support (BLS) if needed. The assistant also supports continuous improvement of programming by sharing ideas for activities and enhancements with leadership while consistently modeling excellent service standards and professionalism.

Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent (required)
2 years of relevant experience (required)
1 year of experience working with children in a supervised setting (preferred)
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification – American Heart Association or American Red Cross (required within 60 days of hire)
