Job Brief

Our client is a leading financial services organisation seeking a Chief Technology & Transformation Officer to lead its technology strategy and enterprise-wide transformation agenda.

This is a strategic leadership role responsible for modernising the organisation's technology landscape, accelerating digital transformation, strengthening data and technology capabilities, and ensuring technology is closely aligned with business growth and customer objectives.

The successful candidate will work closely with the CEO, executive leadership team and Board to shape and execute the organisation's long-term technology and transformation roadmap.

Responsibilities

Technology Strategy & Leadership

• Define and execute the enterprise technology strategy in alignment with business objectives.
• Lead the overall technology function, including applications, infrastructure, architecture, cloud, data and technology operations.
• Develop a future-ready technology roadmap supporting business growth, scalability and operational efficiency.
• Modernise legacy technology platforms and drive adoption of scalable, secure and resilient solutions.
• Establish strong technology governance, architecture standards and operating models.

Transformation

• Lead major enterprise-wide digital and technology transformation programmes.
• Develop and execute a multi-year transformation roadmap covering technology, processes, people and operating models.
• Partner with business leaders to identify opportunities to improve customer experience, operational efficiency and business performance.
• Drive organisational change and ensure successful adoption of new technologies and ways of working.
• Oversee major transformation programmes from strategy through execution and benefits realisation.

Digital, Data & AI

• Accelerate the organisation's digital agenda and enhance customer-facing technology capabilities.
• Develop the organisation's data strategy and strengthen data-driven decision-making.
• Identify and implement opportunities to leverage AI, automation, analytics and emerging technologies
• Ensure technology investments deliver measurable business and customer outcomes.

Risk, Security & Resilience

• Ensure technology environments meet appropriate cybersecurity, risk, regulatory and compliance requirements.
• Strengthen technology resilience, business continuity and disaster recovery capabilities.
• Work closely with risk, compliance and information security leadership to manage technology-related risks.

Leadership & Stakeholder Management

• Build, lead and develop a high-performing technology and transformation organisation.
• Act as a strategic technology advisor to the CEO, Executive Committee and Board.
• Manage relationships with strategic technology partners, vendors and system integrators.
• Establish a culture of innovation, accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement.
• Manage technology investment, budgets and prioritisation to maximise business value.

Requirements

• 15+ years of experience in technology leadership, digital transformation or enterprise technology.
• Proven experience as a CTO, CIO, Chief Digital Officer, Chief Transformation Officer or equivalent senior technology leader
• Strong experience within insurance, banking, financial services or another highly regulated industry
• Demonstrated track record of leading large-scale technology and business transformation.
• Strong understanding of enterprise architecture, cloud, applications, data, cybersecurity and emerging technologies.
• Experience modernising legacy environments and implementing enterprise technology platforms.
• Strong commercial understanding and ability to connect technology strategy with business outcomes.
• Experience managing large technology teams, transformation portfolios and significant budgets.
• Strong executive presence with experience engaging CEOs, C-suite leaders and Boards.
• Excellent change management, stakeholder management and communication skills.
