Chief Technology Officer (CTO)

Limassol, Cyprus | Hybrid (3 days on-site) | Reporting to CEO

Base to €130,000 + 30% performance bonus + equity

About the role

On behalf of our client, we are seeking a CTO for an established, profitable fintech scale-up. Reporting directly to the CEO, the CTO will lead the engineering organisation through its next phase: moving to agile, product-aligned squads, and setting the architectural direction for the platform.

This is a hands-on technology leadership role. The CEO is looking for a CTO who is in the trenches with the team, drives delivery, and brings clear, structured communication into the executive board.

What you will own

Engineering leadership across back-end, front-end, QA and DevOps.

Restructuring the team into agile squads and embedding Scrum in practice.

System architecture and technical direction, including overseeing the migration from Docker Swarm to Kubernetes.

Building out the leadership layer beneath you.

Code reviews, technical decisions, and earning credibility from senior engineers through depth, not title.

Risk, security and governance across the platform.

Aligning technology with commercial goals.

What you bring

A track record as CTO, VP Engineering or Head of Engineering, with genuine hands-on technical depth.

Proven experience restructuring an engineering team into agile squads. Theory plus practice.

Java and .NET stack fluency. Containerised infrastructure, Docker to Kubernetes migration experience strongly preferred.

Essential: Sector exposure to regulated fintech, financial services platforms or trading infrastructure.

Comfort operating in a fast-paced scale-up reporting directly to a founder-CEO.

Experience with regulated environments and 24/7 platform operations.

Spoken English fluency.

Cyprus-based or open to relocation. Three days per week on-site in Limassol.
