About the Opportunity
We are seeking a hands-on Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to lead technology strategy, product architecture, and engineering execution for an early-stage AI-powered healthcare payments company.
This is a unique opportunity to join a funded startup at the ground floor and play a critical role in building and scaling a technology platform focused on transforming complex healthcare financial workflows. The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise with startup execution experience and is excited about building products from concept to commercial scale.
This is not an advisory or purely managerial position. The successful candidate will be expected to actively contribute to product development, make key architectural decisions, recruit and lead engineering talent, and work closely with business stakeholders to bring the company’s vision to market.
Responsibilities
- Define and execute the overall technology vision and product architecture.
- Lead the design, development, and launch of the company’s core platform.
- Evaluate and select technology stacks, infrastructure, and development frameworks.
- Build secure, scalable, and reliable systems that support healthcare payment and revenue cycle workflows.
- Develop AI-enabled workflow automation capabilities to improve operational efficiency and decision-making.
- Design and manage integrations with healthcare, billing, claims, payment, and data systems.
- Establish engineering best practices, development processes, and technical standards.
- Recruit, mentor, and lead an early-stage engineering team.
- Collaborate closely with executive leadership, investors, advisors, customers, and strategic partners.
- Drive product delivery from MVP through commercialization and scale.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 10+ years of software engineering and technology leadership experience.
- Proven experience building products from concept through launch.
- Strong software architecture and system design expertise.
- Hands-on coding and technical execution capabilities.
- Experience leading engineering teams and managing technical roadmaps.
- Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure, APIs, integrations, and scalable application development.
- Experience working in startup, high-growth, or rapidly evolving environments.
- Ability to operate effectively in ambiguous situations and make decisions with limited information.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred
- Previous founder, CTO, or early technical leadership experience.
- Experience developing AI, machine learning, automation, or intelligent workflow products.
- Background in healthcare technology, healthcare infrastructure, healthcare operations, or regulated environments.
- Experience with payments, financial technology, transaction processing, or workflow automation platforms.
- Knowledge of healthcare revenue cycle management, claims processing, reimbursement workflows, denials management, or payment reconciliation.
- Experience building enterprise SaaS products and data-intensive applications.
- Familiarity with healthcare data integration and interoperability standards.
