CHIEF TECHNOLOGY OFFICER (CTO)

Net Salary: ₦1,500,000 Monthly (Net After Tax)
The Chief Technology Officer (CTO) will provide strategic leadership and technical direction for the organization's telecommunications infrastructure, broadband network operations, and enterprise connectivity ecosystem.
The successful candidate will oversee the planning, deployment, optimization, and expansion of fibre optic, wireless broadband, IP backbone, and carrier-grade telecom infrastructure while ensuring scalability, reliability, cybersecurity, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance.
The role requires a seasoned telecom technology executive with extensive experience in ISP operations, broadband infrastructure deployment, enterprise connectivity, and network engineering leadership.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Telecom Technology Strategy & Leadership
- Develop and implement the organization's telecommunications and broadband technology strategy
- Align network infrastructure investments with organizational growth and commercial objectives
- Drive innovation across fibre broadband, wireless connectivity, enterprise telecom services, and carrier operations
- Lead digital transformation initiatives across network infrastructure and technical operations
- Evaluate emerging telecom technologies to improve network performance and service delivery
Broadband & Telecom Infrastructure Management
- Oversee the architecture, deployment, optimization, and maintenance of fibre optic and wireless broadband infrastructure
- Manage IP/MPLS backbone networks, metro fibre connectivity, and last-mile broadband access systems
- Ensure network scalability, redundancy, resiliency, and high service uptime
- Supervise GPON systems, routing, switching, wireless backhaul, and microwave radio infrastructure
- Lead network capacity planning, infrastructure modernization, and performance optimization initiatives
ISP Operations & Network Performance Management
- Lead Network Operations Centre (NOC) activities and telecom service assurance functions
- Monitor bandwidth utilization, latency, uptime, and overall network health metrics
- Manage upstream providers, carrier partnerships, peering relationships, and enterprise connectivity vendors
- Ensure compliance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and quality-of-service standards
- Oversee data centre connectivity and enterprise network optimization initiatives
Telecom Cybersecurity & Regulatory Compliance
- Develop and implement telecom cybersecurity frameworks and network protection systems
- Ensure compliance with Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) regulations and telecom industry standards
- Lead disaster recovery planning, business continuity, and incident response initiatives
- Conduct infrastructure risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies
- Ensure compliance with data protection and information security requirements
Network Expansion & Infrastructure Deployment
- Lead nationwide fibre rollout and wireless broadband expansion projects
- Oversee tower connectivity, metro fibre deployments, and enterprise access infrastructure
- Coordinate vendors, OEMs, contractors, and regulatory stakeholders
- Ensure timely, cost-effective, and high-quality infrastructure delivery
- Drive infrastructure scalability and nationwide broadband penetration initiatives
Innovation & Digital Connectivity Solutions
- Drive innovation in telecom infrastructure, IoT connectivity, and cloud-integrated telecom services
- Develop scalable enterprise connectivity and managed network solutions
- Support next-generation broadband and smart infrastructure initiatives
- Evaluate emerging technologies supporting digital inclusion and telecom modernization
Leadership & Technical Operations Management
- Build and lead high-performing telecom engineering and technical operations teams
- Establish operational standards, governance frameworks, SOPs, and network management policies
- Mentor senior engineers, NOC managers, and technical specialists
- Drive operational excellence, service delivery performance, and continuous improvement
- Provide executive-level technical advisory support to business leadership
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of 14 years' relevant experience in telecommunications, ISP operations, broadband infrastructure, or carrier network environments
- Proven experience managing large-scale telecom infrastructure and enterprise connectivity operations
- Strong expertise in fibre deployment, wireless broadband systems, and IP network architecture
- Experience working within telecom operators, ISPs, or digital infrastructure companies is mandatory
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing technical operations and engineering teams
TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree in any of the following disciplines:
- Telecommunications Engineering
- Electrical/Electronics Engineering
- Computer Engineering
- Computer Science
- Related Engineering or Technology discipline
Master's Degree or MBA will be an added advantage.
