Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) – Health Insurance / Employee Benefits

Bergen County, NJ (4 days onsite; hybrid flexibility)

$175K–$250K base +(flexible for exceptional candidates) + performance-based incentives

We are seeking a high-impact, entrepreneurial Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) within the health insurance space to lead and scale the company’s revenue engine. This individual will own revenue strategy, oversee the full sales organization (including its manager), and drive overall growth, team expansion, and market penetration.

The CRO will work closely with ownership to build structure, elevate performance, and create a scalable, high-performing sales organization.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Established leader in health insurance with a strong personal book of business
  • Entrepreneurial and growth-driven with a builder’s mindset
  • Proven ability to lead and manage both sales teams and their leadership
  • Highly motivated, competitive, and hands-on
  • Strong industry relationships and credibility
  • Experienced in both strategy and execution
  • Metrics-driven with a focus on pipeline, conversion, and scalable growth

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and drive overall company revenue and growth strategy
  • Oversee the entire sales function, including the Director of Sales and broader team
  • Leverage and expand personal book of business
  • Recruit, build, and scale a high-performing sales organization
  • Establish KPIs, track performance, and enforce accountability across all sales layers
  • Monitor pipeline, conversion rates, and revenue performance; implement improvements as needed
  • Identify new business opportunities, partnerships, and markets
  • Work closely with ownership on strategic direction and execution
  • Step in as needed on high-level deals and revenue initiatives

Qualifications and Must-Haves

  • Must have an existing book of business within health insurance
  • Extensive experience in the health insurance / employee benefits industry
  • Proven experience managing both sales teams and sales leadership (manager/director level)
  • Demonstrated success driving and scaling revenue growth
  • Strong business acumen and executive presence
  • Ability to build structure, processes, and accountability across a sales organization
