JOB PURPOSE / POSITION OVERVIEW
The Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) is responsible for leading the overall revenue generation strategy of Haydon Companies, with direct accountability for pipeline development, pursuit strategy, win rate, and backlog growth.
In collaboration with the C-Suite and Executive Leadership Team, the CRO drives the company’s ability to consistently identify, pursue, and secure profitable work aligned with Haydon’s strategic vision. This role is critical to accelerating growth—particularly within the Building Division—while strengthening Haydon’s market position across key sectors.
The CRO integrates Strategic Growth and Marketing into a unified, high-performing revenue engine. This leader ensures that client relationships, market strategy, pricing, and execution capabilities are aligned to win work in competitive environments.
Success in this role requires a leader who combines external market influence with internal alignment, building strong client relationships while driving disciplined pursuit execution and measurable backlog growth.
DUTIES AND EXPECTATIONS
1. Strategic Revenue Leadership: Provides leadership and direction for the company’s revenue strategy, ensuring alignment with Haydon’s long-term vision and growth objectives. Identifies market opportunities, prioritizes target sectors, and positions the organization to compete and win in high-value markets. Drives clarity and discipline in how the company selects and pursues work.
2. Backlog Growth & Market Expansion: Leads the development of a predictable and sustainable pipeline that supports long-term revenue growth. Focuses on expanding the Building Division while strengthening overall market presence. Ensures that growth is achieved through high-quality, profitable work aligned with company objectives.
3. Client Development & Market Influence: Builds and maintains strong relationships with key clients, developers, and industry leaders. Positions Haydon as a preferred partner by influencing opportunities early in the lifecycle. Establishes a proactive approach to business development that emphasizes relationship-driven growth and repeat business.
4. Pursuit Strategy & Win Execution: Oversees the development and execution of pursuit strategies for major opportunities. Ensures alignment across Strategic Growth, Marketing, Preconstruction, and Operations to create a competitive advantage. Drives disciplined go/no-go decision-making and ensures each pursuit is supported by a clear and executable win strategy
5. Integration of Strategic Growth & Marketing: Leads the alignment of Marketing and Strategic Growth to support revenue objectives. Ensures that messaging, branding, and proposals are directly tied to pursuit strategy and market positioning. Elevates the effectiveness of proposals, interviews, and client engagement to improve overall win rates.
6. Organizational Leadership & Alignment: Builds and leads a high-performing revenue organization across Strategic Growth and Marketing. Establishes clear accountability, performance expectations, and measurable outcomes. Fosters collaboration across departments to ensure alignment between strategy, pricing, and execution.
7. Performance Management & Accountability: Implements metrics and reporting systems to track pipeline health, win rates, and backlog growth. Provides transparency to executive leadership on performance and market conditions. Drives continuous improvement through data-driven decision-making and accountability.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• 15+ years of experience in business development, revenue leadership, or operations within the construction industry
• Proven track record of winning and influencing large-scale projects and driving backlog growth.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORKING CONDITIONS (environment, noise level, public interactions)
• Office working environment, regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach and move about office building and job trailers.
• Lift and move up to 20 pounds.
• Ability to wear required PPE on job sites.
