Job Description

Pay: $150,000.00 per year

Salary: $150,000 annually

Schedule: Monday to Friday Flexible (on-call)

Location: Yonkers/Riverdale

Join our team at SCFU as the Chief Programs Officer (CPO), overseeing residential, day, community/respite programs, and clinical coordination. The CPO ensures alignment with agency philosophy and regulatory standards while spearheading program development and expansion. This pivotal role involves strategic planning, stakeholder liaison, and maintaining service excellence. Note: This role is full-time 40 hrs a week and fully in-person. Travel to residences in Riverdale is required.

Responsibilities:

Leadership and Strategic Vision

  • Motivate teams towards a positive work environment.
  • Develop and execute strategic plans aligned with organizational goals.

Regulatory Compliance and Quality Assurance:

  • Maintain knowledge of human services regulations.
  • Ensure service quality and regulatory adherence.

Problem-Solving and Adaptability:

  • Address complex issues with effective solutions.
  • Adapt to changing environments and foster innovation.

Interpersonal Communication and Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Build effective relationships and represent the organization.
  • Engage with stakeholders to foster collaboration.

Team Building and Development:

  • Supervise programs and provide operational training.
  • Foster a cohesive team approach and review service quality.

Financial Management and Oversight:

  • Budgeting, financial planning, and resource allocation.
  • Ensure fiscal responsibility and program sustainability.

Ethical Leadership and Agency Representation:

  • Uphold ethical standards and prioritize well-being.
  • Support CEO in public relations and program growth.

Compliance and Site Management:

  • Manage crisis situations and ensure compliance.
  • Maintain safe and well-managed program sites.

Continuous Learning and Regulatory Awareness:

  • Stay informed on regulations and contribute to strategic discussions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred.
  • 5-7 years of supervisory experience in developmental disabilities.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Precision Care.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel.
  • Successful completion of background check and fingerprint examination.

About Special Citizens Futures Unlimited

In 1976, a group of parents of autistic adolescents came together to organize Special Citizens as a nonprofit organization. The organization began as a vehicle to advocate for ongoing adult programs for their children who had aged out of Special Education services with very little options for long-term housing or day programming. The group of parents began their journey in 1977. Upon approval of a three-year grant from the then OMRDD, Special Citizens opened its first group home in Westchester (Cortlandt Intermediate Care Facility) on December 7, 1981.

We are committed to the development and delivery of a comprehensive, integrated system of services, which has as its primary purpose the promotion and attainment of independence, inclusion, individuality and productivity for adults and children with autism. Special Citizens has a workforce of 200 employees supporting over 350 people with Autism Spectrum Disorders throughout the Bronx, Manhattan and Westchester County.
