Status: Full-Time Salary

FLSA Classification: Exempt

Location Remote/National

Requires Travel throughout US for meetings and trainings as needed.

Salary: $157,000

of the Position:

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer/ President, the Chief Program Officer (CPO) is a member of the Executive Leadership Team and provides strategic leadership and oversight for YAP's program strategy, planning, execution, and performance. The CPO is accountable for service excellence, program outcomes, and the effective delivery of services across the organization.

The CPO collaborates with funding sources, community partners, stakeholders, and other constituents to strengthen YAP's reputation and advance its mission. The incumbent monitors emerging trends and best practices in the youth, family, adult, and nonprofit service sectors to drive innovation and organizational effectiveness.

Responsible for leading program talent strategy and ensuring excellence in program development and service delivery, the CPO directly supervises Executive Vice Presidents across YAP. As a trusted executive leader, the CPO plays a critical role in supporting organizational growth, expansion, and long-term success.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a relevant field required; Master's degree preferred.
  • Demonstrated expertise and deep understanding of the youth and family services sector, with a genuine commitment to YAP's mission, vision, and values.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of progressively responsible leadership experience within the human services sector, including senior-level operational and program management roles. Prior experience serving as a Senior Director, Vice President, or equivalent executive leader is required.
  • Demonstrated senior-level expertise in program leadership, including program assessment, design, development, implementation, evaluation, and performance measurement.
  • Highly developed skills in advocacy, negotiation, collaboration, and the cultivation of strategic relationships with government agencies, payors, funders, and other external stakeholders, resulting in positive organizational and revenue outcomes.
  • Proven leadership experience in strategic growth, stakeholder engagement, quality improvement, brand/reputation management, and customer- or client-focused service delivery.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing community-based alternatives to incarceration or out of home placement for young people and knowledge of the juvenile justice, child welfare system and plus.
  • Knowledge of evidence-based models and youth mentoring a plus.
  • Highly Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite and database systems.
  • Experience knowledge using an Electronic Health Record (EHR) system is strongly preferred.
  • Ability and willingness to travel frequently including occasional overnight and multi-day travel.
