Formerly Aurora Santa Rosa Hospital, SRBHH was opened in 2016 and is regarded as an integral part of the greater Santa Rosa and Northern California mental health system of care. Conveniently located in the North Bay, this hospital consists of 144 acute psychiatric inpatient beds.

Conveniently located in the North Bay, SRBHH serves adolescents and adults. We treat both mental health and co-occurring psychiatric and substance abuse conditions.

POSITION TITLE: Chief Operating Officer

REPORTS TO: Chief Executive Officer

PAY: $166,500-210,206 annually

OF POSITION:

Responsible for the delivery of quality mental health care services to the identified market and to assist the CEO in directing the ongoing effective overall management of the service delivery system. COO manages multiple departments and ensures quality standard of patient care is provided in all units. The COO position provides the leadership, management and vision necessary to ensure that the hospital has the proper operational controls, administrative and reporting procedures, and people systems in place to effectively grow the organization and to ensure financial strength and operating efficiency. The position accomplishes this through a respectful, constructive and energetic style, guided by the mission, vision and values of the company. The Chief Operating Officer maintains knowledge of, participates in further training provided, and understands the potential risks regarding occupational health hazards (e.g. bloodborne pathogen exposures).

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • In conjunction with CEO, define and communicate the organization's mission to the local market level.
  • Assist the CEO in the directing, planning and implementation of goals and objectives set forth by the CEO to accomplish mission within the established parameters, procure and allocate resources to meet these goals and objectives.
  • Works with CEO to ensure financial management produces a desirable ROI: Revenue generation, expense control.
  • Ensure that all local services meet the industry standards of quality care.
  • Plans, directs and coordinate services for assigned departments regarding operations.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with physicians, allied health professionals, and all referral sources
  • Responsible for the measurement and effectiveness of all processes internal and external.
  • Knowledge of the healthcare environment and key issues associated with hospitals, critical access and physician alignment, in addition to an in-depth knowledge of all aspects of healthcare and strategic planning.
  • Ability to maintain exceptional positive working relationships with medical center-based physicians.
  • Ability to build solid, trusting working relationships with members of the medical staff.
  • Must be able to work with several management level persons at the same time and bring issues to a successful conclusion in a reasonable period of time.

Requirements

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Master’s degree in business, nursing, public health administration or related field.
  • Verbal de-escalation and physical intervention program as approved by the CNO.
  • 5 years of progressively responsible position as a leader in the healthcare industry.
  • Acute psychiatric care experience is preferred.
  • Healthcare experience in the State of California.

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, this position is frequently required to do the following:

Sacramento Behavioral Healthcare Hospital (SBHH) is a new facility located near downtown Sacramento. As the first newly constructed psychiatric hospital in Northern California in more than 30 years, this hospital offers 117 inpatient acute psychiatric beds, an outpatient treatment center, and a procedures clinic providing electro-convulsive therapy (ECT) and other interventional psychiatry services.

We offer a full range of individualized treatment services, adults, and senior adults, including treatment for mental health and co-occurring (mental health and substance abuse) disorders. Additional services include mental health and substance abuse screening, assessment, crisis intervention, consultation, education, and individual and group counseling.
