We are currently working with an established, family-owned concrete construction company seeking a Chief Operating Officer (COO) to join their leadership team. Our client has built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality residential and custom concrete projects and is looking for an experienced operational leader to help drive efficiency, scalability, and continued success.

What's the role?

The Chief Operating Officer (COO) will play a key leadership role in overseeing daily operations, supporting project execution, and helping the organization continue to grow. This position is responsible for coordinating field and office operations, managing crews and schedules, implementing systems and processes, and ensuring projects stay on track from bidding through completion.

The COO will work closely with ownership and leadership to improve efficiency, establish accountability measures, and create operational consistency across the organization. This is a hands-on leadership role that combines strategic planning with active involvement in the field, including visiting job sites, observing operations, and supporting crews and project teams.

The ideal candidate is a strong leader who understands construction operations, can develop effective systems and processes, and enjoys working closely with both office staff and field personnel.

What experience and skills do I need to be successful?

• 5+ years of construction operations, project management, or senior leadership experience preferred
• Concrete construction experience highly preferred
• Candidates from related construction industries will be considered
• Experience managing crews, schedules, equipment, and project resources
• Strong understanding of construction project lifecycles, including bidding, estimating, and project execution
• Proven ability to implement systems, processes, and operational controls
• Experience monitoring budgets, job costs, project timelines, and performance metrics
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to build relationships across field and office teams
• Comfortable utilizing technology and software platforms to support operations
• Willingness to learn company-specific systems and processes

What will my schedule look like?

This is a full-time position that combines both office and field responsibilities. The COO will spend time in the office overseeing operational functions while also visiting job sites to support crews, monitor progress, and ensure projects are running efficiently.
