Job Overview:
We are currently seeking a Chief Officer -SDPO to join our team. This is a full-time position based offshore, working on a rotational schedule. The Chief Officer -SDPO will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the vessel, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the designated Safety Officer and act as the Ship Security Officer when required
- Ensure the vessel is operated in compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies
- Oversee and manage the deck crew, providing guidance and training as needed
- Monitor and maintain all safety and emergency equipment, ensuring it is in good working condition
- Conduct regular safety drills and exercises to ensure crew readiness in case of emergencies
- Prepare and maintain all necessary documentation and reports, including crew records, safety logs, and maintenance records
- Coordinate with other departments and personnel to ensure smooth and efficient operations
- Perform regular inspections of the vessel to identify any maintenance or repair needs
- Assist with mooring and anchoring operations as needed
- Keep up-to-date with industry developments and regulations, and implement necessary changes to ensure compliance
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Chief Officer on offshore vessels
- Valid STCW certification and Chief Officer Unlimited license
- Valid DP Unlimited license
- Strong knowledge of relevant regulations and industry standards
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Physically fit and able to work in offshore conditions for extended periods of time
