
Chief of Staff to the President & CEO, Meritus Health
The Chief of Staff to the President & CEO is an execution-oriented leader who provides direct support to the President & CEO in advancing organizational priorities and directing organizational level communications. This role serves as a key extension of the President & CEO and will focus on both leading communications for the organization and leading a specific, diverse set of projects.
The Chief of Staff will oversee corporate communications and work closely with senior leaders to ensure clear, consistent, and effective messaging across internal and external audiences. The role will also support the President & CEO in government relations activities at the state level, including preparation for meetings, policy briefings, stakeholder engagement, and follow-up on advocacy priorities.
This position requires exceptional judgment, communication skills, project management capability, agility, execution discipline, results orientation, and the ability to manage multiple high-priority efforts simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
Reporting Relationship
Reports directly to the President & CEO.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Support to the President & CEO – 40%
Provide high-level strategic and operational support to the President & CEO, including developing and managing projects with specific plans, timelines, and deliverables. Proficiency in dashboard management and quality improvement projects is essential. Manage multiple complex projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail, quality, and deadlines.
Corporate Communications Oversight – 60%
Provide leadership and oversight for corporate communications, ensuring messaging is clear, consistent, timely, and aligned with organizational strategy and values. Support internal and external communications related to major initiatives, organizational announcements, public events, media matters, community engagement, and executive messaging. Work with communications staff and leaders to develop communication plans, talking points, press materials, presentations, newsletters, web content, social media messaging, and other materials as needed.
Ensure the President & CEO is well-prepared for public-facing communications, media interactions, community events, and stakeholder presentations; including involvement and coordination of state level government relations.
Promote disciplined, proactive, and strategic communication across the organization.

Compensation
Salary range: $135,000 to $175,000 annually, commensurate with experience, qualifications, and organizational compensation practices.
