Job Description

The Chief of Staff, Pharmacy Services, serves as a trusted advisor and strategic partner to the Managing Director of Pharmacy Services. This role is responsible for supporting the execution of key business priorities, driving organizational effectiveness, facilitating cross-functional collaboration, and ensuring alignment across a complex and evolving healthcare services organization.

Working closely with Pharmacy Services leadership and key enterprise partners, the Chief of Staff will help translate strategic priorities into actionable plans, track execution against critical initiatives, coordinate leadership activities, and drive operational excellence across the organization.

The ideal candidate is a highly organized, strategic thinker with strong communication, project management, and influence skills who thrives in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic Planning & Execution

  • Support the development and execution of Pharmacy Services strategic priorities and annual business objectives

  • Partner with leaders to translate business goals into actionable plans and measurable outcomes.

  • Monitor progress against key initiatives and provide visibility into risks, dependencies, and opportunities.

  • Support business reviews, leadership meetings, and strategic planning activities.

Leadership Team Effectiveness

  • Coordinate operating rhythms for the Pharmacy Services leadership team, including staff meetings, business reviews, and leadership forums.

  • Drive follow-up and accountability for key decisions and action items.

  • Prepare executive presentations, updates, and meeting materials for senior leadership discussions.

  • Help ensure priorities remain aligned and resources are focused on the most critical business needs.

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Lead and coordinate high-priority initiatives that span multiple functions, teams, or business units.

  • Partner with leaders across Operations, Clinical Services, Revenue Cycle Management, Client Success, Product, Finance, Human Resources, and broader Health System Services teams to drive business outcomes.

  • Facilitate collaboration and issue resolution across stakeholder groups.

Communications & Change Management

  • Support organizational communications and leadership messaging.

  • Assist in developing communication strategies and materials related to business initiatives, organizational changes, and transformation efforts.

  • Partner with HR and business leaders to support employee engagement and change management activities.

  • Ensure leadership communications are clear, consistent, and aligned with organizational objectives

Business Operations & Governance

  • Maintain governance processes and reporting mechanisms that support effective decision-making.

  • Develop dashboards, status updates, and executive summaries for leadership review.

  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes, improve coordination, and enhance organizational effectiveness.

  • Support ongoing operational planning and priority management activities.

Special Projects

  • Lead strategic projects and analyses on behalf of the Managing Director and Pharmacy Services leadership team.

  • Conduct research, gather insights, and develop recommendations to inform business decisions.

  • Support business transformation, integration, and organizational effectiveness initiatives as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

  • High School Diploma or GED.

  • 5+ years of experience in healthcare, pharmacy services, consulting, business operations, project management, strategy, or related fields.

  • Demonstrated success managing complex cross-functional initiatives. Strong written and verbal communication skills, including executive-level presentations.

  • Experience working in matrixed organizations and influencing stakeholders without direct authority.

  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities while maintaining attention to detail.

Preferred

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

  • Experience in pharmacy services, specialty pharmacy, healthcare operations, or health system services.

  • Experience supporting senior leaders or executive teams.

  • Knowledge of healthcare operations, reimbursement, revenue cycle, or clinical service environments.

  • Experience in organizational change management or business transformation initiatives.
