Job Description
This role is for one of the Weekday's clients
We are looking for a high-ownership Chief of Staff, Office of the CEO to work closely with the Co-Founder & CEO across the company's most critical priorities. This is an operating and execution-focused role for someone who can take ambiguous objectives, create structure, coordinate stakeholders, identify blockers, and drive initiatives through to completion.
The Chief of Staff will work across Product, Engineering, AI/ML, Partnerships, Operations, Institutional Engagements, Strategic Initiatives, and special projects. The expectation is to understand what matters, create clarity, drive execution, and consistently close the loop.
Location: Hyderabad | Work Mode: Full-time, Work from Office | Reporting to: Co-Founder & CEO | Experience: 2–10 years
Requirements
What You Will Own
CEO Priorities & Execution
- Translate CEO priorities into structured execution plans with clear outcomes, owners, timelines, dependencies, milestones, and escalation paths.
- Maintain visibility across the organization's highest-priority initiatives and ensure critical commitments are delivered.
Cross-Functional Leadership
- Coordinate across Product, Engineering, AI/ML, QA, Design, Business, Partnerships, Operations, and external stakeholders.
- Track commitments and dependencies across teams and ensure company-level priorities progress without replacing functional ownership.
Strategic Initiatives
- Own selected CEO-sponsored initiatives, including strategic partnerships, product initiatives, institutional opportunities, market expansion, new business programs, and company-wide operating projects.
- Take ownership of outcomes rather than waiting for detailed task-level instructions.
CEO Operating Cadence
- Establish and maintain weekly priority reviews, leadership follow-ups, initiative trackers, decision logs, milestone reviews, escalation mechanisms, and operating dashboards.
- Ensure meetings translate into decisions and decisions translate into measurable execution.
Decision Support
- Structure complex and ambiguous problems for the CEO using a clear framework: Issue → Options → Implications → Recommendation → Decision Required
- Develop an informed point of view rather than simply escalating problems.
Strategic & Institutional Engagements
- Support the CEO in engagements with financial institutions, enterprise partners, technology companies, government bodies, strategic advisors, and other important stakeholders.
- Prepare relevant context, materials, objectives, and talking points before critical engagements and ensure all resulting commitments are followed through.
Product & Technology Coordination
- Develop sufficient understanding of products and technology to coordinate effectively with technical teams.
- Maintain visibility into engineering milestones, product readiness, QA, AI/ML deliverables, dependencies, deployment blockers, and technical risks impacting business outcomes.
- Ensure technical workstreams remain aligned with broader business priorities without directly managing engineering teams.
Research & Analysis
- Conduct structured research across markets, competitors, technology, business models, pricing, partnerships, regulations, expansion opportunities, and emerging strategic areas.
- Translate research and analysis into actionable recommendations and decisions.
Leadership Coordination
- Identify unclear ownership, missed commitments, execution gaps, cross-functional dependencies, recurring bottlenecks, resource constraints, and emerging risks.
- Help create stronger execution discipline and become a trusted source of context across the organization.
What Success Looks Like
- CEO priorities are understood and translated into clear execution plans.
- Major initiatives have clear ownership, timelines, and measurable outcomes.
- Important commitments are tracked and consistently closed.
- Potential blockers and risks are identified before they become major issues.
- Cross-functional initiatives move efficiently from discussion to execution.
- Decision-making becomes faster, clearer, and more structured.
- Communication across technical, business, and external stakeholders remains aligned.
- The CEO can provide an outcome and trust you to drive the execution required to achieve it.
Ideal Candidate
- 1–4 years of strong professional experience in a high-performance environment.
- MBA from IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Bangalore, IIM Calcutta, ISB, or another highly selective institution is preferred.
- Strong IIT, BITS, or other top-tier undergraduate backgrounds with relevant operating experience are encouraged.
- Experience in management consulting, Founder's Office, Strategy & Operations, fintech, technology, program management, investment banking, corporate strategy, or high-growth companies
- Prior experience working directly with founders, CEOs, or senior leadership is highly valued.
- Strong academic credentials are useful, but demonstrated execution ability is more important.
What We Look For
- Ownership: Take responsibility for initiatives from assignment through completion.
- Execution: Convert conversations into actions and actions into measurable outcomes.
- Structured Thinking: Bring clarity and structure to ambiguous situations quickly.
- Judgment: Know what to solve independently, what requires discussion, and what needs escalation.
- Communication: Communicate effectively with engineers, designers, business leaders, institutions, and senior external stakeholders.
- Follow-Through: Focus on completed outcomes rather than activities or updates.
- Speed: Comfortable managing multiple high-priority initiatives simultaneously.
- Independent Thinking: Challenge assumptions constructively and present better alternatives when appropriate.
- Confidentiality: Exercise exceptional discretion when handling sensitive company information and strategic decisions.
What This Role Is Not
This is not an Executive Assistant, calendar-management, reporting-only, presentation-making, pure project coordination, or research role. It is a hands-on operating position within the Office of the Co-Founder & CEO, with direct exposure to strategy, execution, technology, business, and company-building.
Compensation & Career Path
Compensation will be competitive and aligned with experience and capability, with potential components including fixed compensation, performance-linked incentives, ESOPs, and relocation support where applicable.
Strong performance can lead to broader leadership opportunities across Strategy & Operations, Business Unit Leadership, Strategic Partnerships, Corporate Development, New Business Initiatives, and senior operating roles
The Standard
Understand what matters. Create clarity. Take ownership. Get the right people moving. Solve what you can. Escalate intelligently. Close the loop.
