Job Description

Reporting to the Chief Corporate Development Officer and serving on the leadership team, the role helps translate priorities into action, strengthen the operating rhythm of the function, and advance selected strategy, partnership, and transaction initiatives. Approximately 30 - 40% of the role is focused on Chief of Staff responsibilities - driving alignment, executive readiness, communications, and business operations - while the remainder focuses on corporate development, strategy and strategic projects (partnerships & investments) that support Nokia’s growth agenda.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a trusted advisor to the Chief Corporate Development Officer, helping translate strategic priorities into clear focus areas, decisions, and follow-through.

  • Lead the operating cadence for the Corporate Development organization, including planning, leadership meetings, follow-ups, and progress tracking across key priorities.

  • Own and support selected strategic initiatives, partnerships, and transaction-related workstreams, ensuring alignment, momentum, and timely escalation of risks.

  • Prepare the CCDO for executive and Board discussions through concise materials, decision briefs, and clear strategic narratives.

  • Serve as a cross-functional integrator across Finance, Legal, HR, Product, and business groups to support efficient decision-making and execution.

  • Develop high-quality leadership updates, communications, and executive readouts, and help ensure consistent messaging across the Corporate Development agenda.

  • Contribute to broader corporate development and strategy work, including market assessments, strategic evaluations, partnerships, and selected M&A initiatives.

  • Specifically, serve as a central integrator across the Northern AI Gigafactory project, coordinating senior stakeholders, partner discussions, governance forums, and execution milestones.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Significant experience (10-15 years) in corporate development, strategy, consulting, investment, business operations, or a related field, ideally in a complex global organization.

  • Strong understanding of corporate development and strategy, including partnerships, transactions, business case development, and executive decision-making.

  • Proven ability to lead complex cross-functional initiatives and drive execution in fast-paced, matrixed environments.

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and synthesis skills, with the ability to connect strategic, financial, and operational perspectives.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to create clear executive materials and influence senior stakeholders.

  • High judgment, discretion, ownership, and comfort working across ambiguity and shifting priorities.

Leadership Capabilities

  • Ability to move effectively between strategic thinking, operational coordination, and execution.

  • Strong collaborative leadership style with the ability to align stakeholders and drive progress without direct authority.

  • Executive presence, sound judgment, and comfort operating in senior leadership settings.

  • Structured, adaptable, and disciplined in managing multiple priorities and delivering outcomes.

Success Measures

  • The CCDO and leadership team operate with greater clarity, focus, and follow-through on the highest-priority topics.

  • Corporate Development priorities, transactions, and strategic initiatives progress with discipline, alignment, and strong executive support.

  • Leadership discussions and decision forums are well prepared, concise, and outcome-oriented.

  • The role holder is seen as a trusted partner who strengthens both the operating rhythm and strategic execution of the function.
