The Chief of Staff is a key role within the Delivery Authority, acting as a strategic partner and trusted advisor to the Chief Executive whilst providing high level executive and operational support, coordinating cross-organisational priorities, and delivering defined strategic projects as required. You will also work closely with the Chair and Chief Executive to ensure the smooth running of the DA Board as well as broader governance forums.
Together with preparing high-quality briefings, reports, and speeches on behalf of the Chief Executive you will ensure that Executive Committee meetings are well run, considering the right matters at the right time and any actions are clearly documented and followed up.
You will take the lead on organisational performance measurement and reporting throughout the organisation, working with the Executive and Board to define and agree performance measures and to report on organisational performance on a regular basis.
You will lead a team of Executive Assistants to support the executive team, mentoring and developing individuals to ensure that the correct level of support is provided. This role is pivotal in enabling the Chief Executive to focus on strategic leadership by ensuring the smooth running of operational activities and acting as a trusted advisor to internal stakeholders.
You will have proven experience in developing and sustaining relationships at senior level with a pro-active approach to identifying and resolving problems. Politically astute, you will have previous experience within a role that requires upward challenge and holding senior leaders to account with an excellent understanding of the type of political and stakeholder environment in which the Delivery Authority operates.

Salary circa £95,000 per annum
