Summary
The Chief of Staff to the President at Lane College is a senior leadership role supporting the President, coordinating the Office of the President, and serving as the liaison to the Board of Trustees. The position ensures operational efficiency, advances strategic priorities, and provides confidential, sound counsel to the President and leadership team.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure issues for the President are thoroughly researched and evaluated, assisting with communications.
- Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders and resolve complex matters.
- Anticipate and address key issues, providing timely updates across groups.
- Oversee preparation of materials, briefings, and correspondence for presidential matters.
- Represent the President at key meetings, appearances, and events as needed.
- Supervise the staff in the President’s Office, helping to lead and sustain a culture of service, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
- Supervise office staff, prioritize workflows, and align resources with strategic goals.
- Manage budgets, track expenditures, and advise the President on resource allocation.
- Oversee strategic planning and monitor progress, ensuring alignment with institutional goals.
- Lead presidential communications to maintain consistency and excellence.
- Facilitate communication and assignments across areas reporting to the President.
- Serve as liaison to the Board of Trustees, managing meeting preparations and building relationships.
- Engage stakeholders, resolve campus concerns, and represent the College effectively.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QualificationsMinimum
Qualifications
- Master’s degree required, Doctoral degree preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years of related work experience, including 5 years of managerial experience.
- Work experience in higher education, non-profit, or public sectors.
- Proven record of developing partnerships and achieving strategic results.
