Children's Hospital of Michigan has been a cornerstone of pediatric care since 1886 — the first and largest children's hospital in the state and a nationally ranked institution recognized by U.S. News & World Report. As a proud member of the Detroit Medical Center, CHM carries an international reputation in pediatric medicine, surgery, and research, training more pediatricians than any other facility in Michigan.
The Department of Pediatrics at Children’s Hospital of Michigan and Central Michigan University (CMU) invite applications and nominations for the position of Division Chief of Pediatric Pulmonology. This prestigious role offers a visionary leader the opportunity to advance our clinical, educational, and research missions while guiding an established, comprehensive respiratory team.
The Division of Pediatric Pulmonology features a robust clinical footprint, serving a large outpatient and inpatient pediatric pulmonary care. The division is staffed four board-certified pediatric pulmonologists and one physician assistant (PA). The multidisciplinary team also included four dedicated nurses, a clinical social worker (SW), and a registered dietitian.
The Pulmonary Medicine division has a Cystic Fibrosis Foundation accredited Cystic Fibrosis (CF) Center and has a close collaboration with the adult CF center at Harper University Hospital. Together, we are an active member of the national Cystic Fibrosis Therapeutics Development Network (TDN).
Advanced Sleep Program: Features a high-volume, dynamic Sleep Center that includes a multidisciplinary sleep clinic and two dedicated pediatric sleep labs.
Detroit is a city in full stride — a revitalized urban core with world-class dining, a thriving arts and music scene, and major sports anchoring community pride year-round. Neighborhoods like Midtown, Corktown, and Royal Oak offer distinct personalities and genuinely affordable housing compared to most major metro markets, making it an easy place to put down roots. The broader metro area provides strong public and private school options, and proximity to the Great Lakes means outdoor recreation is never far away. For physicians who want the energy of a major city without the cost of living to match, Detroit consistently delivers.
