Chief Nursing Officer

We are looking for a full-time Chief Nursing Officer who will be responsible for all areas pertaining to Nursing Services, including day to day direction, supervision, and ongoing strategy. Also included is the facilitation of pertinent hospital functions including Infection Control, Risk Management, and Performance Improvement Program for the Nursing Department.

Key responsibilities:

  • Coordinates and provides professional oversight of all Nursing Services
  • Coordinates and provides professional oversight of the Nursing Staff
  • Coordinates relations with local School of Nursing
  • Coordinates implementation of the Infection Control Program
  • Schedules or facilitates the scheduling of department staff;
  • Establishes, revises, and interprets applicable nursing policies and procedures;
  • Oversees, establishes, revises, and provides training for nursing staff;
  • Ensures hospital maintains regulatory compliance relative to Nevada HCQC, The Joint Commission, CMS, OSHA, and ADA
  • Participation in hospital Performance Improvement Committee and its ongoing functioning;
  • On-call 24 hours a day for emergent needs; may share call with assigned and qualified personnel as available;
  • Practices good quality assurance/risk management measures, infection control techniques, and safety techniques;
  • Meets training and certification responsibilities
  • Responsible for maintaining department budget and participates in budget planning for the facility

Qualifications:

Education and Licensure

  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing. Master’s Degree in Nursing required.
  • Must be a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Nevada

Experience

  • At least 5 years’ nursing experience in a hospital setting, preferably in psychiatric hospitals.
  • Minimum of three (3) years’ supervisory/management experience required.
  • Experience drafting, implementing and overseeing risk and compliance programs
  • Must have experience working with Joint Commission
  • Previous experience managing a department budget, including FTE and expense management
