Responsible for creating a positive and progressive relationship with all members of the medical staff, hospital executive team and all hospital leadership; collaborates to foster a culture of safety throughout the hospital and among all staff; ensures communication and collaboration with administrative and operational leaders to support clinical excellence.
Assists the Senior Team in formulating and implementing strategies for the physicians and organization. The CMO will facilitate and coordinate physician-centric activities including quality improvement, peer review, clinical effectiveness and resource management supporting the highest level of care and regulatory compliance. Serves as an ambassador for Baptist Health Richmond in the community.
This is a hybrid role split between 80% CMO duties and 20% Clinical Practice duties.
Education
Board certified physician with current state license, preferably in Kentucky.
Experience
Minimum of 5 years as a Chief Medical Officer with both clinical and administrative staff leadership experience working within a 100+ licensed bed acute care hospital.
Minimum of 3 years related experience in patient quality and safety.
Experience with CMS, ACHC and or Joint Commission, and other regulatory bodies.
Experience in formulation and implementation of clinical practice guidelines and performance improvement activities for various service lines, including Emergency, Cancer Care, Surgical Services, Maternity, Sleep Disorder and Diabetes Management.
