The Information and Digital Services (IDS) function plays a critical role in governing, managing and protecting the University’s digital environment to enable this ambition.
Reporting to the Vice-President (Corporate Services) and as a key member of the senior leadership team, the Chief Information Officer (CIO) will lead the strategic development and delivery of a secure, scalable and future ready digital ecosystem. Central to positioning Flinders as a digitally enabled, data informed and globally competitive university, the CIO will ensure strong technology and digital foundations while building toward broader transformation aligned to Agenda 2035. Key responsibilities include:
leading the development and execution of enterprise digital strategy aligned to the University’s long term ambitions;
driving organisation wide digital transformation across teaching, research and operations;
overseeing a complex portfolio of digital programs and projects, balancing operational reliability with progressive uplift and modernisation;
strengthening cyber security, digital risk and information governance frameworks to safeguard a high value environment;
enabling data informed decision making through analytics, data platforms and emerging technologies, including AI;
providing strategic advice and thought leadership to the Vice-Chancellor, Executive and Council;
leading high performing, multidisciplinary teams and building capability across a large and diverse information and digital services function;
building strategic partnerships with industry, government and research organisations.
You will be an accomplished executive with extensive leadership experience in complex digital and technology environments such as higher education or organisations of comparable scale, across large, multi-campus settings with diverse stakeholder groups and complex legacy and modern technology environments. With a track record of enterprise level transformation, you will bring deep expertise across digital platforms, data, cloud, cyber security and emerging technologies.
A highly collaborative leader with strong stakeholder engagement and influencing capability at Executive and Board level, you will demonstrate highly developed leadership in building cultural and operational capability across a diverse function. Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline are expected, with postgraduate credentials highly regarded.
