As a Human Resources Chief, you’re not just leading the hotel’s HR function – you’re spreading the light and warmth of hospitality by delivering memorable experiences that make the stay for every guest.

Key Responsibilities & Position Objective: Responsible for leading and managing the hotel’s Human Resources operations, ensuring the effective administration of recruitment, development, training, compensation, employee relations, internal communications, and organizational culture processes. This role promotes a positive work environment aligned with Hilton’s standards and programs, contributing to Team Member satisfaction, compliance with applicable labor laws, and the achievement of the hotel’s business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Recruitment and Selection
  • Lead end-to-end recruitment and selection processes across all organizational levels.
  • Coordinate interviews, assessments, and onboarding processes.
  • Build relationships with universities, educational institutions, job boards, and recruitment agencies.
  • Ensure vacancies are filled promptly while maintaining high selection standards.
  1. Personnel Administration and Payroll
  • Coordinate and oversee payroll processing by preparing, validating, and submitting payroll updates to the external payroll provider or responsible department.
  • Manage personnel files, employment documentation, and mandatory records.
  • Monitor hires, terminations, contractual amendments, and other personnel changes.
  • Ensure compliance with current labor legislation and the applicable Collective Bargaining Agreement.
  1. Employee and Labor Relations
  • Serve as the main point of contact for resolving individual and collective labor issues.
  • Advise leaders on disciplinary matters and people management.
  • Coordinate disciplinary procedures, ensuring compliance with corporate policies and applicable legislation.
  • Maintain professional and constructive relationships with union representatives and relevant authorities.
  1. Training and Development
  • Develop and implement the Annual Training Plan.
  • Identify training needs in collaboration with each department’s leaders.
  • Coordinate Hilton corporate training programs, as well as internal and external training activities.
  • Measure the effectiveness of the training programs implemented.
  • Maintain up-to-date Team Member training records.
  1. Performance and Talent Management
  • Coordinate the annual Performance Review process.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate performance review timelines.
  • Advise leaders on setting objectives and developing individual development plans.
  • Participate in succession planning and talent development processes.
  • Develop and monitor the hotel’s annual People Plan.
  1. Hilton Programs and Culture
  • Lead the implementation and monitoring of Hilton’s corporate programs.
  • Coordinate Team Member recognition, well-being, and engagement initiatives.
  • Promote Hilton’s culture and values, as well as diversity and inclusion initiatives.
  • Manage Team Member engagement activities and corporate celebrations.
  1. Organizational Climate and Internal Communications
  • Design and implement initiatives aimed at strengthening the workplace environment.
  • Coordinate monthly meetings with Team Members.
  • Analyze engagement and satisfaction indicators.
  • Promote effective communication channels across all levels of the organization.
  • Lead initiatives that foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
  1. Budgeting and Management Control
  • Prepare the annual budget for Human Resources expenses.
  • Develop the payroll budget in collaboration with the Finance department.
  • Prepare periodic forecasts and monitor budget performance.
  • Manage and optimize expenses related to training, benefits, events, uniforms, and other HR-related items.
  • Analyze Human Resources management indicators and prepare reports for senior management.
  1. Benefits and Vendor Management
  • Manage relationships with Human Resources vendors.
  • Administer Team Member benefits, including health insurance, other insurance coverage, and corporate programs.
  • Negotiate and oversee contracts and services related to the department.
  • Monitor vendors’ compliance with service-level agreements.
  1. Confidentiality and Compliance
  • Manage and safeguard confidential information related to Team Members, compensation, performance reviews, and legal matters.
  • Ensure compliance with privacy and data-protection policies.
  • Ensure compliance with Hilton’s corporate policies, internal audit requirements, and applicable legal obligations.

What It Takes to Make the Stay

Specific Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities:

  • Knowledge of various methods used to conduct and manage needs assessments.
  • Knowledge of adult learning theories and the essential elements of training.
  • Knowledge of training program development methods.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Written English proficiency for preparing reports and training materials, as well as the ability to communicate effectively in written and spoken English with employees and management at all levels.
  • Ability to observe Team Members in the workplace, analyze operations, and identify issues related to departmental practices, Team Member performance, training needs, and compliance with policies.

Qualifications and Skills Standards

Education

  • University degree or studies in a related field, such as Educational Psychology, Psychology, Labor Relations, or Education.

Experience

  • At least two years of experience in training and development positions within service-oriented companies, preferably in the hospitality industry.
  • Previous experience leading a Training and Development department will be considered an asset.

Licenses or Certifications

  • None required.

Personal Appearance

  • All Team Members must maintain a neat, clean, and professional appearance in accordance with established grooming standards.

NOTE:

The hospitality industry requires operations 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Additionally, as this is a service-oriented business, a hospitable and service-focused attitude must be demonstrated at all times.

All Team Members must fully comply with Hilton’s policies and regulations to ensure the efficient operation of the hotel’s facilities. Team Members who violate these policies and regulations may be subject to disciplinary action.
