As the Chief Geologist, you will be responsible for leading our geology department and overseeing all geological aspects of our mining operations. You will play a critical role in the exploration, development, and production phases of our projects. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in mineral exploration and mining, as well as strong leadership and managerial skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the geology department, including geologists, technicians, and support staff.
- Develop and implement exploration programs to identify and evaluate mineral deposits.
- Oversee geological mapping, sampling, and drilling activities.
- Conduct geological interpretation and modeling to assess mineral resources and reserves.
- Provide technical guidance and support to mine planning and production teams.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
- Manage geological databases and reporting systems.
- Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and technological advancements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geology or related field.
- Minimum three (3) years of experience in mineral exploration and mining.
- Proven track record of successful exploration and resource estimation.
- Strong leadership and managerial skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in geological modeling software and GIS applications.
- Knowledge of relevant regulations and industry standards.
