Plutus21 is hiring a Chief Financial Officer to own the finance function across the firm's investment and operating divisions. The role reports to the founder and CEO and sits on the leadership team. It carries full responsibility for fiscal discipline, capital strategy, and the financial architecture of a multi-entity, multi-jurisdiction enterprise spanning institutional investment management and operator-led services.
This is a builder's seat, not a caretaker's. The firm runs across multiple legal entities and geographies, and the CFO is expected to design and defend the structures that hold it together: tax, intercompany, treasury, and governance. The right candidate pairs strategic judgment with technical depth and is equally at home in a board conversation and inside the mechanics of a cross-border transfer pricing model.
Key Responsibilities
Own the firm's financial strategy, planning, and capital allocation across all entities and divisions.
Design, implement, and defend the firm's legal entity and tax structure, including US federal and state structures and the optimal configuration of existing and new jurisdictions.
Architect and govern complex intercompany transactions: transfer pricing, cost allocation, intercompany lending, and cross-border capital flows.
Lead jurisdiction selection and structuring for new offices, vehicles, and operating entities, optimizing for tax efficiency, compliance, and operational control.
Oversee financial reporting, internal controls, and compliance across all entities and geographies.
Serve as the primary financial counterpart to the CEO and leadership team on capital, risk, and strategic decisions.
Manage relationships with external advisors, auditors, tax counsel, banks, and internal stakeholders.
Build and lead the finance function as the firm scales, including hiring, systems, and process design.
Direct budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting that ties financial performance to business objectives.
Own governance, risk management, and treasury across the firm.
Qualifications
7 to 10 years of progressive finance experience, including time in senior financial leadership.
Deep working knowledge of US tax structures at federal and state level, including pass-through and corporate vehicles, and multi-entity consolidation.
Demonstrated command of complex intercompany transactions and cross-border transfer pricing.
Proven ability to enter a jurisdiction, assess the legal and tax landscape, and design the optimal entity and operating structure.
Background in investment management, financial services, or a multi-entity holding structure.
CPA, CFA, MBA, or equivalent credential strongly preferred.
Track record operating across distributed, international teams.
High integrity, sound judgment, and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters.
Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Proven ability to build and develop finance teams.
