Purpose of the Role
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is responsible for leading the companys financial strategy and operations. This includes oversight of all financial planning, reporting, analysis, compliance, and advisory functions, with support from relevant departments. The CFO is based at the companys designated workplace and works closely with the Chief Executive Officer and leadership team to ensure financial stability and long-term growth.
BCom Accounting degree (or equivalent).
Registered with a recognised professional accounting body (e.g., SAICA, SAIPA, CIMA, ACCA).
Partner with the CEO to define financial goals, strategic direction, and performance metrics.
Ensure the financial health and sustainability of the business through strategic oversight.
Analyse operational costs, pricing models, revenue streams, and financial performance.
Prepare and deliver monthly financial reports and dashboards to senior management.
Ensure full compliance with financial regulations, including VAT, Income Tax, PAYE, Provisional Tax, and Dividends Tax.
Coordinate with HR and Operations to complete statutory submissions (e.g., EEA2, EEA4, B-BBEE, SETA).
Conduct monthly evaluations of internal controls and present findings to management.
Interpret financial results and propose actionable improvements to support growth.
Recommend changes to internal processes to reduce costs and enhance profitability.
Establish cost frameworks for all business operations.
Manage income, cash flow, and expenditure across the company.
Develop and maintain financial systems and modelling tools.
Advise on investments and long-term financial strategy.
Identify trends and create forward-looking financial projections.
Oversee monthly departmental budgeting processes.
Assess IT operational and capital expenditure data.
Partner with leadership on workforce planning and FTE approvals.
Ensure accurate billing and service alignment in collaboration with the COO.
Support IT business cases with cost-benefit analysis.
Deliver variance analyses on actual vs. planned IT expenditure.
Break down IT infrastructure into detailed cost categories for transparency.
Conduct financial modelling and analysis for both operational and capital projects.
Review performance data with department heads to refine forecasting.
Support quarterly forecasting and annual planning, especially for Product Delivery.
Provide ad-hoc reports and financial models to support decision-making.
Oversee the companys asset management systems and processes.
Liaise with internal and external auditors to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
Liaise with auditors to ensure financial governance and compliance are upheld.
