Job Description

Chief Finnancial Officer

At CMA CGM, a global leader in shipping and logistics, we are looking for a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead the finance function for Mexico.

This role will act as a strategic business partner to the General Manager and the Regional Finance leadership, ensuring financial integrity, strong governance and sustainable performance across the organization. The CFO will also collaborate closely with Global Business Services teams based in India, Malaysia and Costa Rica, driving financial efficiency and alignment with Group standards.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee all finance, accounting, tax and compliance activities within the agency.
  • Ensure the accuracy, reliability and timeliness of financial reporting prepared by local teams and Global Business Services.
  • Supervise the monthly closing process and guarantee high-quality reporting for regional and Group stakeholders.
  • Ensure full compliance with local statutory, accounting and tax regulations.
  • Ensure the implementation and enforcement of Group financial policies, procedures and internal control frameworks.
  • Act as the main financial advisor to the General Manager, contributing to strategic decision-making and business planning.
  • Lead the preparation of the annual budget and monitor financial performance against targets.
  • Manage working capital, cash flow and financing arrangements in coordination with the Group Treasury function.
  • Oversee customer credit risk and collections in collaboration with the regional credit management team.
  • Serve as the key point of contact for internal audit, risk management and internal control teams.
  • Identify financial risks and implement mitigation plans to safeguard the organization.
  • Monitor financial KPIs and drive initiatives aimed at improving operational and financial performance.
  • Lead and develop the local finance team while fostering strong collaboration with international stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Accounting & Finance.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the shipping or transportation industry.
  • Solid knowledge of accounting standards, finance and local tax legislation.
  • Strong understanding of the logistics or transport sector.
  • Advanced level of English.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Experience working with financial systems such as SAP, OneStream or similar platforms is a plus.
