Job Title: Chief Executive Officer

Duration of contract: Permanent

Hours of work: 40 hours per week (this is s senior level position. Sometimes additional and unsocial hours will be required).

Salary: £75,000

Location: Loftus Road and other venues across West London where QPR deliver programmes

Reports to: Chair of the Board of Trustees

About QPR Community Trust:

QPR in the Community Trust works within the local community providing opportunities based on the main objectives of health, education, social inclusion and participation, tackling National issues at a local level. The Trust recognises the power that football, and the Club identity has on its local community.

Working in disadvantaged and deprived areas of seven West London boroughs with many local partners involved and delivering to around 23,000 participants, the Trust wishes to support local communities and provide opportunities for participants to make positive changes is their lives. Established in 1994 and obtaining charitable status in 2009, the charity is focused on:

• Supporting young people to reach their full potential.

QPR Community Trust has a wide range of projects including The Tiger Cubs, Extra-Time over 60s club, QPR Primary Stars, Soccer Schools, Kicks, Healthy Eating Projects plus many more

Role Summary:

The CEO of the Trust will provide inspirational leadership, developing and delivering an ambitious, financially sustainable plan that increases both the Trust’s and the football club’s brand, impact and reputation. A heavy emphasis will be placed on fundraising and revenue generation.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

• In conjunction with the Board of Trustees, set the strategic framework for the Trust.
• Lead the delivery of the Trust goals and objectives.
• Create, monitor and manage departmental budgets and ensure budgetary control.
• Develop networking and partnership pathways to enhance revenue streams to sustain and grow the charity.
• Manage and develop a diverse work force.
• Demonstrate strong leadership, develop and support the management team.
• Manage executive and Board level relationships
• Oversee clear governance structures and ensure compliance with all governance obligations.
• Ensure safeguarding, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion are embedded across all areas of the Trust.
• Build and sustain influential relationships with key partners across the public, private, and voluntary sectors
• Provide accurate and timely reporting to grant funders, trustees and partners and to review impact annually
• To ensure the work of the charity follows a communications plan to promote the work of the Trust to the wider community
• To create a culture where staff feel empowered and valued, whilst also aiming for continuous improvement
• Appraisals and reviews of senior staff & trustees
• Risk management procedures are in place prior to any delivery, critical incident procedures are followed and business risk reviews completed regularly
• To maintain a close working relationship with QPR Club staff and attend senior management meetings
• To represent the Trust on local boards e.g. London United and at PL/EFL events
• Commit to a programme of continuing personal development (CPD)
• Ensure all activities are delivered to the standards outlines in the Trust/Club’s Equal Opportunities, Health and Safety and Child Protection policies.
• Record and store sensitive data in line with the QPR Trust’s GDPR policies
• Participate in the appraisal process.
• Undertake duties to support the Club’s commercial/marketing partners.

Personal Specification:

The type of experience we are looking for:

You will have exceptional experience in business development and/or fundraising with the skillset to provide ambitious strategic leadership. Demonstrable commercial acumen with a proven track record of developing diverse income streams and an understanding of how organisations contribute towards positive change in their communities with a proven track record of managing a team. To have the knowledge to ensure the Trust works to the highest standards of charitable governance and compliance.
