GE Vernova Gas Power assignments provide students with opportunities to work with experienced leaders in the following areas: Design Engineering, Chief Engineering and Training Office. In addition to challenging productivity projects, these assignments provide interns the opportunity to build leadership and functional skills through challenging assignments, training, and networking activities.

Essential Responsibilities

As a Chief Engineering Office Master's Degree Intern, you will be working under the direction of the GE Vernova Gas Power Chief Consulting Engineer.

Assignments may include:

  • Working under the direction of the GE Vernova Gas Power Chief Consulting Engineer.

  • Trainee program assignments may include assist in preparing cloud-based information structures
  • Work with Managers and CTHs on the creation of Learning Experiences
  • Develop, validate and document new methods for the lifing team on benchmarking and validating FRANC3D crack propagation tools for GT Hot Gas Path/Steam Turbines, which is intended to become the global tool to be applied across all engineering organizations in Gas Power:
  • Document and get approval of reports on these methodologies. Aid in preparing presentation material and reports.
  • Communicate with other technical staff, both internally and externally.
  • Support in solving complex using sustainable and quality design solutions.
  • Adhere to existing working practices, methods, procedures, undertake relevant training and development activities and to respond positively.

Required Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a master's in sciences in Mechanical Engineering. (Focus: Materials, Propulsion, or Solid Mechanics). At least 1 to 2 years to graduation (Expected completion: June 2027 or later).
  • Programming Proficiency: Demonstrated ability to automate data analysis using Python, C++, or advanced Excel Macros.
  • Technical Knowledge: Solid background in Finite Element Method (FEM) for stress analysis and fatigue/fracture mechanics fundamentals.
  • Communication: Strong oral and written English skills; ability to document complex technical processes clearly.
  • Software Skills: Familiarity with CAD/FEA software (UG/NX, Ansys).
  • Availability to work 40h a week.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Fluent English communication (written and spoken)
  • Good Problem-Solving Skills
  • Microsoft Office Tools: Word, Excel, and Power Point
