Job Description

PT. Midplaza Prima is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Chief Engineer to lead our engineering team. The Chief Engineer will manage and ensure that all building systems and equipment, including the plant room and clean water systems, are functioning properly and maintained in accordance with established standards and the approved operational budget.This leadership role requires a strong background in engineering, proven management skills, and the ability to coordinate interdisciplinary teams to achieve project goals.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure all maintenance schedules are implemented properly and completed on time.
• Monitor all material usage costs and operational expenses related to building systems and equipment.
• Plan and prepare the annual budget, as well as monitor and control all expenditures and operational expenses.
• Review all maintenance contracts with vendors and suppliers, including conducting negotiation processes.
• Review and ensure the validity of all licenses and work permits related to building systems and equipment.
• Develop and implement training programs for all maintenance staff.
• Stay updated with the latest technologies related to building maintenance systems.
• Initiate continuous improvements to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
• Ensure the availability of equipment and materials according to operational requirements.
• Monitor renovation and project works within the building area, both internal and external.
• Monitor and maximize the productivity of all maintenance staff.
• Prepare and submit periodic reports to management regarding overall building maintenance operations.

Requirements

• Minimum Diploma (D3) or Bachelor’s Degree (S1) in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related fields.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in building engineering/maintenance, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or Chief Engineering position.
• Strong understanding of building operational systems, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, generators, STP, pumps, and plant room systems.
• Proven ability to develop preventive maintenance schedules and monitor maintenance activities.
• Knowledgeable in engineering budget management, operational cost control, and the use of materials and spare parts.
• Experienced in handling vendors, maintenance contracts, and negotiation processes.
• Good understanding of occupational health & safety (K3), permits, and operational legal compliance for building equipment and systems.
• Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Capable of preparing periodic engineering operational reports and analyses.
• Able to work under pressure and target-oriented operational environments.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and engineering administration.
• Willing to work with a flexible schedule based on operational requirements.
