We are looking for a Chief Engineer, Piping to join our Plant & Solutions Delivery Engineering team in the Minerals business area. In this role, you will lead and coordinate piping engineering activities for global plant delivery projects, ensuring high-quality and cost-effective solutions that meet customer requirements, project schedules, and budgets.

You will report to the Manager, Piping, and the role location is Espoo, Finland, with a hybrid working model available. The position may include occasional travel to customer, partner, and project sites.

You will join a global team of piping and plant engineering professionals focused on delivering safe, reliable, and efficient engineering solutions for minerals processing and metallurgical plants. The team plays a key role throughout project execution, from basic engineering through detailed engineering and implementation support.

The team collaborates closely with customers, project management, procurement, suppliers, engineering partners, product teams, and other engineering disciplines. Ways of working emphasize safety, technical excellence, open communication, accountability, continuous improvement, and delivering results together.

What you'll do

• Lead piping engineering activities in plant delivery projects and act as the primary contact for piping-related technical matters.
• Take ownership of the piping discipline scope, quality, schedule, budget, resource requirements, risks, and project reporting.
• Ensure the technical quality and accuracy of piping designs in line with applicable codes, standards, project requirements, and engineering practices.
• Prepare and coordinate piping engineering deliverables, including design criteria, specifications, calculations, drawings, material definitions, and project documentation.
• Review customer requirements and technical documentation, resolve technical issues, and ensure alignment with contractual and project objectives.
• Coordinate interfaces between piping and other engineering disciplines, procurement, and project management teams.
• Support procurement and supplier activities through technical requirements, offer evaluations, vendor document reviews, and material selection.
• Contribute to the development of piping engineering practices, standardization, cost optimization, and innovative concentrator and hydrometallurgical plant solutions.

What you'll bring

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Piping Engineering, or a related engineering field.
• Demonstrated experience in piping engineering, including coordinating piping activities in multidisciplinary industrial projects.
• Strong knowledge of piping engineering principles and relevant international piping codes and standards.
• Experience with piping design documentation, material specifications, piping layouts, and multidisciplinary engineering coordination.
• Proficiency with one or more 3D plant design tools, preferably AutoCAD Plant 3D.
• Strong project execution skills, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, risk management, and resource coordination.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, problem-solving, and leadership capabilities in an international project environment.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
• Willingness to travel occasionally to customer, partner, and project sites.
