Northrop Grumman CentralSoftware, E&PEngineering is looking for you to join us asChief Engineer - Level 7, located in Huntsville, AL,Colorado Springs, CO, orBoulder, CO.

This role will serve as the definitive technical authorityforthe assignedprogram. The selected candidate willreport directly to theregionalSoftware Engineering Directorand interfacewith corporate executives and government customersThe Chief Engineer willlead a multi-disciplined engineering teamin a fast paced-environmentmanaging the technical performance of the program meeting cost and schedule requirements.Programmatic focus will be on the activities to develop key technologies, integrate and shape solutions forMissile DefenseIntegration (MDI)Business Unit (BU)while also supporting the creation of new strategies to win and execute future development programs.

  • Responsible for the technical development and direction of all engineering aspects on the program, including design, development, implementation, testing, and delivery of products to the customer.

  • Serve as the advisor to the programdirectorandtechnicalinterfaceto the customer

  • Lead technical execution foracomplex program,integrating multi-disciplinary engineering efforts to meet cost, schedule, and performance objectives.

  • Maintain cognizance over technical activities withintheprogram andensuringhorizontal integration ofcompliant,bestpractice engineeringprocesses and procedures

  • Collaboratewith allteamand technical leadsto resolve engineering conflicts andprovideinnovative, achievable solutions tounusually/complex technical problems

  • Evaluate technical implications of identified risks, issues, and opportunities, andoffersrecommendations for mitigation strategies

  • Provide technical leadership, direction and mentoring to other technical employees in the application of software engineering principles, tools, and techniques to achieve results through managing people,internal processes and customer/supplier relationships.

  • Provideinsight and knowledge transfer to others on internal and external technical solutions to solve complex problems.

  • Regularly interface with otherprogram stakeholders and associate contractorsto ensure system level integration

  • Develop and present technical solutions to senior leadership,collaborateacross BUs, divisions, sectors withinthe companyas well as with industry partners and customer community,usingstrong communication skills.

  • Advocate and lead efforts inArtificial Intelligenceassisted software developmentinitiativesintegration

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and

  • Math) discipline and 16 years of relevant experience; 14 years with master’s degree; 12 years withPhD

  •  Minimum of10years of experiencetechnicallyleadinglargeengineering teamsandor organizationstoachievefull system development, end to end integration, testing, anddeployment

  • Must have active Secret clearance at time of application

  • Must be US Citizen

  • Must have working knowledge of Agile methodologies.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Missile Defense programs

  • Demonstrated background of successfully applying Software Engineering Principles and Operating Practices to guide program technical design, development, and deployment of systems architectures.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ten or more yearsof experience in Missile Defense programsincluding Fire Control experience.

  • Top Secret/SCI clearance

  • Have familiarity proposal and/or capture experience.

  • Experience leading Agile software program development to include Dev*Ops, AI/ML solution integration,AIML/Math/Physics based algorithms, Sensor/ track fusion algorithms, cloud-based solutions.

  • Strong understanding and broad application of complex engineering systems (engineering standards, configuration management,engineeringreview board, process control, software, etc.)

  • Ability to collaborate and achieve consensus when dealing with groups from diverse organizations, experiencelevels,and backgrounds.Demonstrated experience in making sound decisions in uncertain and difficult situations

Primary Level Salary Range: $192,800.00 - $303,700.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.The application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
