  • Oversee daily operations of the engineering and maintenance department
  • Ensure all hotel systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, elevators, etc.) operate efficiently
  • Implement preventive maintenance programs
  • Ensure compliance with local building codes, fire safety regulations, and health standards
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments
  • Maintain emergency systems and procedures
  • Prepare and manage the engineering department budget
  • Control expenses and optimize resource usage
  • Coordinate with vendors and contractors for cost-effective services
  • Plan and oversee renovations, upgrades, and capital projects
  • Coordinate with contractors and ensure projects are completed on time
  • Respond promptly to maintenance-related guest complaints
  • Ensure minimal disruption to guests during repairs
  • Maintain records of maintenance, repairs, and inspections
  • Prepare reports for hotel management
  • Supervise, train, and schedule engineering staff
  • Assign tasks and monitor performance
  • Ensure proper staffing levels and productivity

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related field)
  • Proven experience in hotel engineering or facility management (typically 5–10+ years)
  • Strong knowledge of building systems and maintenance practices
  • Leadership and team management skills
  • Familiarity with safety standards and regulations
  • Problem-solving and troubleshooting
  • Leadership and communication
  • Time management and organization
  • Technical expertise in multiple systems
  • Budgeting and cost control
