ABM, a leading provider of integrated facility solutions, is looking for a Chief Building Engineer.
Pay: $47/HR+ DOE
The pay listed is the hourly range or the hourly rate for this position. A specific offer will vary based on applicant’s experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, and alignment with market data.

Chief Engineer is responsible for the supervision and coordination of all activities concerned with the general operation and maintenance work of the mechanical, electrical and craft services. Function as a working group leader in these areas.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Duties and Responsibilities

    • Develop work assignments for each employee.
    • Handle special work assignments and trouble calls.
    • Adhere to quality standards and established practices for all work performed.
    • Assist in training personnel on proper operating procedures and techniques.
    • Enforce applicable safety regulations.
    • Conduct regular inspections.
    • Operate mechanical and electrical equipment supplying the job site with power, heating, refrigeration, air conditioning, and ventilation.
    • Maintain required licenses for the facility.
    • Stand scheduled shift watches and work with the tools of the stationary engineer’s trade.
    • Overall Responsibilities

      Operation of:

      • HVAC systems
      • Water treatment procedures
      • Electrical equipment

Specific Duties

  • Operate, maintain, and repair boilers, heaters, pumps, valves, appurtenances, and piping used in the distribution of steam and heated or processed water.
  • Operate, maintain, and repair HVAC and refrigeration equipment, including compressors, condensers, evaporators, and associated controls.
  • Operate, maintain, and repair electrical motors, engines, and power distribution systems.
  • Maintain fuel oil, water distribution, sewer, life safety, and security systems.
  • Maintain kitchen equipment and trash compactors.
  • Ensure energy-efficient operation through seasonal adjustments and recalibration of controls.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by building management.
