We are looking for a visionary and technically proficientChief Design Engineerto oversee the development,optimizationandimplementation of our algorithmstogether withintegratingAI solutions.

You willdrivea team of talented engineers, collaborate withotherteamsacrossR&D organizationand guide the strategic direction ofintegratingAI and machine learning technologies within thePonsseR&D/ControlSystems.The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding ofrobotics,control system design,foundation knowledge ofAI/ML principlesandlife cycle, a proventrack recordof leadershipinresearch anddevelopmentand a passion for innovation.

KeyResponsibilities

• Lead the design and development of advanced algorithms to solve complex challengesthat bring the most value to our customers

• Provide technical direction and mentorship to a team ofsoftware andmachinecontrolengineers.The positionincludes a product owner role in scrum framework

• Oversee the end-to-end process of AI model development, from research and prototype to deployment and optimization.

• Insight for creating technology and solution roadmap for Algorithm and AI development.

• Collaborate with product management and other engineering teams to align initiatives with business objectives.

• Followthe latest developments inmachine automationalgorithms andmachine learning

What do we expect from you?

• Master’s or PhD incomputerscience,controlengineering,mathematicsora relatedfield.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and make data-driven decisions.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (in English or Finnish) to effectively collaborate with stakeholders across the organization.

• Provenexperiencewithat least 5 years in a leadership or senior engineering rolein software development

• Good understanding ofcontrol system design andpotentialAI/MLapplications inroboticscontrol

• Proficiencyin programming languages such as Python, C++,C#or similar, withknowledgein AI/ML libraries and frameworks (TensorFlow,PyTorch, etc.).Experience inMatlab/Simulink environmentis valued.

• Experience in cloud technologies, big dataplatformsand distributed computing is a plus.

• Knowledge of ROS2 andsimulation tools is a plus.
