UMHC - SoleMia Radiology has an exciting opportunity for a Chief Technologist position. The incumbent is responsible forthe day-to-day operations and administrative dutiesensuring:efficient workflow of the section; compliance with budgetary policy; ensuring the highest quality diagnostic examinations; and compliance of State/Federal/Joint Commission regulations;department/hospital policies,procedures,objectivesand philosophy. The Chief is accountable for the efficient patient throughput and 24-hr supervisory responsibility of department and of all departmental staff member’s scheduling, technicalguidanceand performance improvement. The chief technologist position involves performing diagnostic/jobduties asrequired ofa CTtechnologist at a level that will require no supervision of technical details.

CORE JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Performs all duties of Level I,II& IIItechnologist.

  • Supervises imaging services, including performance or supervision of tests, and daily management of assigned personnel.

  • Assistsin compilation of statistical data for departmental evaluation purposes.

  • Establish andmaintainmodality accreditation certifications.

  • Contributions to the preparation of the annual departmental budget and development of administrative and operational policies, procedures, and regulations.

  • Responsible for hire, discipline, and promotion of department staff.

  • Obtains and examines the diagnostic orders for appropriateness to the type of exam ordered and any special notes or comments.

  • Coordinate/manage scheduling and patient flow for interdepartmental procedures.

  • Collaborates in the development of in-service training for departmental staff.

  • Completes yearly performance appraisals for the staff and handles requests for merit increases, promotions, and disciplinary actions.

COREQUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Graduate of accredited Radiologic Technology /Diagnostic Imaging Program

  • Mustpossessa valid State of Florida License as a General Radiographer.

  • ARRT registered with ARRT certification in primary modalityrequired

  • CPR and BLS certificationrequired

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience Supervisory experience preferred.
