Chief Commercial Officer

📍Location: Katowice / Warsaw hybrid work

About the role:

ENGIE is looking for an experienced Chief Commercial officer to lead the development and execution of our commercial strategy, driving business growth and strengthening our position as a leader in the energy transition.

This role combines strategic vision with commercial excellence and offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of renewable energy solutions, supporting customers on their decarbonization journey while delivering sustainable business results.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute the company’s marketing and sales strategy in line with business objectives and growth targets.
  • Lead the commercial organization and take full responsibility for sales performance, profitability, and budget delivery.
  • Analyze market trends, customer needs, competitive activity, and regulatory developments within the energy sector.
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities, products, and go-to-market strategies.
  • Drive the development and commercialization of innovative energy solutions, including renewable energy products and Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs).
  • Build and strengthen ENGIE’s brand positioning through effective marketing and communication activities.
  • Develop sales channels and optimize customer acquisition and retention strategies.
  • Manage commercial budgets, forecasts, and financial performance, including P&L responsibility.
  • Define pricing strategies and monitor business performance against strategic objectives.
  • Build strong relationships with key customers, partners, industry stakeholders, and regulatory institutions.
  • Represent ENGIE externally and promote the company as a trusted partner in the energy transition.
  • Lead, develop, and inspire high-performing sales and marketing teams.

Requirements:

  • University degree.
  • Minimum 10 years of professional experience, including leadership roles in sales, marketing, or commercial management.
  • Strong knowledge of the energy market, particularly renewable energy and sustainability-related solutions.
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing commercial, sales, and marketing strategies.
  • Strong business acumen with experience managing budgets and P&L responsibility.
  • Experience in developing and launching new products and services.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.
  • Strategic mindset combined with a results-driven approach.
  • High level of adaptability and flexibility, with the ability to effectively navigate and respond to a rapidly changing business, regulatory, and market environment.
  • Strong analytical and market assessment capabilities.
  • Fluent English (minimum C1 level).
  • Openness to frequent business travel, including international travel, is required.
