United Federal Credit Union is seeking a visionary and results-driven Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) to lead our Commercial Lending and Treasury Management divisions. This executive leadership role will be responsible for shaping and executing UFCU's commercial banking strategy, driving sustainable portfolio growth, managing commercial credit risk, and delivering an exceptional experience for our business members.

As a key member of the Strategic Leadership Team, the CCO will play a critical role in shaping UFCU's future by driving sustainable commercial growth, strengthening market competitiveness, ensuring sound credit quality, and delivering exceptional experiences for our business members. This executive will partner closely with senior leaders across the organization to align commercial banking strategies with UFCU's long-term growth objectives while maintaining a strong commitment to risk management, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence.

What You'll Do

Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and execute UFCU's long-term Commercial Lending and Treasury Management strategy.
  • Partner with executive leadership to align commercial growth initiatives with organizational goals.
  • Identify market opportunities and drive competitive positioning across all markets served.

Commercial Lending & Credit Risk Oversight

  • Oversee Commercial Lending, Treasury Management, SBA, and Commercial Operations functions.
  • Ensure sound underwriting practices, portfolio management, and credit risk governance.
  • Monitor portfolio performance and implement strategies that balance growth with risk management.
  • Provide executive-level analysis and reporting to senior leadership and the Board.

Operational Excellence

  • Lead efforts to improve efficiency, scalability, automation, and service delivery.
  • Establish performance metrics and accountability measures across commercial functions.
  • Oversee vendor relationships and ensure operational effectiveness.

Growth & Relationship Development

  • Drive responsible commercial loan and deposit growth.
  • Collaborate with Retail, Sales, and Marketing teams to deepen business member relationships.
  • Expand market share through innovative products, pricing strategies, and delivery channels.

People Leadership

  • Lead, coach, and develop high-performing commercial teams and leaders.
  • Build succession plans and strengthen leadership pipelines.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and member focus.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in Commercial Lending within a credit union or financial institution.
  • Extensive experience in commercial credit risk management, portfolio oversight, and regulatory compliance.
  • Proven success growing commercial loan portfolios and expanding market presence.
  • Strong experience leading commercial lending and operations teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop talent, mentor leaders, and build high-performing teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree (MBA or related graduate degree).
  • Experience leading geographically dispersed teams across multiple markets.
  • Experience with Small Business Administration (SBA) lending.
  • Deep knowledge of Treasury Management products and services.
