Job Description

We are seeking a CCO to lead our client's business development efforts and drive strategic initiatives aimed at achieving year-over-year growth. The ideal candidate will possess a proven track record in commercial leadership within the chemical industry, with a focus on market analysis, customer relationship management, and new business development. This role will report directly to the CEO and will be instrumental in shaping the future of the company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive sales and marketing strategy to drive new business growth while maintaining and expanding existing customer relationships.
  • Conduct market analysis to identify new opportunities and assess competitive landscapes, ensuring alignment with company capabilities and resources.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to leverage existing assets and enhance operational efficiencies, ensuring that customer needs are met effectively.
  • Lead and mentor a team of sales professionals, fostering a culture of accountability and high performance.
  • Manage the business development budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources to maximize return on investment.
  • Engage with key customers and stakeholders to understand their needs and position the company as a trusted partner in their projects.
  • Participate in industry events and trade shows to enhance the company’s visibility and network within the market.
  • Assess potential mergers and acquisitions to support company growth objectives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field; MBA preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in commercial roles within the chemical industry, with at least 4 years in a leadership position.
  • Proven track record of successfully driving sales growth and market penetration in a competitive environment.
  • Strong understanding of the chemical manufacturing process, particularly in advanced intermediates and fine chemicals.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to conduct SWOT analyses and develop strategic plans.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with customers and internal teams.
  • Self-starter with high energy, ambition, and a commitment to achieving results.
  • High integrity and a strong sense of ethics in business practices.
