Chief Assistant City Attorney-Civil DivisionThis position serves as the Chief Assistant City Attorney for the Civil Division in the City Attorney’s Office for the City of Lincoln, Nebraska. This position provides highly specialized legal services for the Civil Division and is designated as the City Attorney in his/her absence. This position is responsible generally for operations in the Civil Division and supervising the civil attorneys. It requires a high degree of knowledge and proficiency in the application of municipal legal practices and leadership. Must have strong oral and written communication skills, effective stress management skills, as well as experience in developing and articulating sound case strategy and analysis; issuing legal opinions; drafting complex legislation; advising elected officials/directors; and project negotiation. Knowledge of city operations and previous experience as in-house counsel for a municipality is preferred.
Must be admitted to the practice of law and in good standing with the Nebraska Supreme Court.
