Disclaimer / Policy statements

UBS is an Equal Opportunity Employer. We respect and seek to empower each individual and support the diverse cultures, perspectives, skills and experiences within our workforce.

Your team

The Chief AI Office is the central hub for AI across UBS. We define the firmwide AI strategy, standards, and shared capabilities, and work hand‑in‑hand with AI teams embedded in the businesses and group functions to turn ideas into real outcomes. From innovation and adoption to governance and scale, we help ensure AI is used responsibly, consistently, and with impact across the firm.

Your expertise

To successfully manage the AI key initiative and operationalize the AI governance within AI Governance Oversight area, you will bring deep subject matter mastery, exceptional judgement and the ability to drive trust, clarity and rigor across a highly complex global environment.

Specifically, you bring:
• expert-level understanding of AI governance frameworks, policies, standards and taxonomies, including experience shaping firmwide guardrails, oversight mechanisms and accountability structures in large organizations
• strong familiarity with regulatory expectations for AI and model-driven systems, ideally including exposure to global regulatory bodies (e.g., FINMA, FINRA, FCA, OCC, EU AI Act) and a demonstrated ability to translate evolving requirements into actionable enterprise controls
• proven track record of partnering with Compliance, Legal, Model Risk and NFR functions, navigating cross functional considerations and securing alignment on policies, scope boundaries, escalation paths and assurance mechanisms
• experience representing an organization in regulatory, audit or risk review interactions, providing clear, concise and well evidenced responses, while maintaining credibility and confidence with external stakeholders
• strong familiarity with the UBS Group AI Policy, including prohibitions (“No Fly Zones”), key principles (fairness, transparency, safety), oversight bodies, and control function review processes
• strong understanding of AI solution lifecycles and associated risks, including fairness, explainability, data governance, robustness, monitoring, security and model risk—allowing you to set meaningful, enforceable standards
• outstanding communication, collaboration and influence skills, capable of simplifying complex regulatory or technical concepts for senior executives, delivery teams and spokes, ensuring governance requirements are understood and embedded
• leadership experience building and managing high performing teams, with strengths in policy design, regulatory engagement, risk assessment, process governance and high quality decision support
