Job Description
Freedom Structured Products PLC is a non-licensed issuing company which maintains operating relationships with a range of distributors and counterparties across multiple jurisdictions - including, but not limited to, the EU, Hong Kong, the Gulf, South Africa and CIS.
Position reports to: CEO.
Location: Limassol, remote or hybrid office work format.
Employment: civil-law contract is preferrable, joining the company's staff is an option.
The combined role of Chief Accountant and Financial Manager for a Cyprus public limited, non-licensed issuing company merges high-level financial control with strategic management. The position directs accounting operations, ensures compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and Cyprus regulatory frameworks, manages corporate cash flow, and reports directly to the CEO.
Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting & Accounting: Oversee general ledger operations, accounts payable/receivable, and payroll. Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with IFRS and the Cyprus Companies Law, Cap. 113. Close cooperation with the Group's accounting department regarding the submission of regular consolidated reports.
- Financial Management & Strategy: Lead budgeting, variance analysis, and multi-year forecasting. Monitor corporate liquidity, optimize working capital, and manage cash flow. Maintain management reports, monitoring the correct allocation of income and expenses of the entrusted company within the Group.
- Compliance & Governance: Ensure strict adherence to Cyprus tax regulations (Corporation Tax, VAT via TaxisNet, VIES) and relevant corporate transparency laws. Act as the primary contact for statutory audits, local and Group external auditors (Deloitte).
- Operations & Internal Controls: Design, implement, and maintain robust internal control systems to protect corporate assets. Organize independent collection, storage and maintenance of primary documentation.
- Liquidity and Cash Management: Manage intraday liquidity. Forecast and fund the book’s payoff obligations — coupon, autocall and maturity outflows. Manage the multi-currency cash and FX exposures arising from cross-currency issuance and hedges; execute or direct FX and money-market transactions. Monitor and manage exposure to the banks, custodians and settlement agents that hold the firm’s and clients’ cash, keeping it safe, liquid, and deployable. Own treasury policy, limits, and the control framework; ensure appropriate segregation of duties and robust reconciliation — and design both to scale with a growing book. Support internal and external audit and regulatory examinations. Own (and, where needed, help select and build out) the treasury-management and cash-management tooling.
Requirements
- Professional Qualification: Qualified accountant status holding an ACA, ACCA, or CPA certification.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting and financial experience, ideally within an investment or issuing company.
- Technical Knowledge: Deep, practical expertise in IFRS, Cyprus corporate tax law, and electronic financial reporting systems.
- Languages: Fluency in English and Russian (written and spoken) is essential; Greek is an advantage.
