HIRING POSITION: Chief Accountant (80-100K)

LOCATION: BANGKOK, THAILAND

As part of their expansion in the Asia-Pacific region, our client is recruiting a Chief Accountant to handle the overall accounting responsibilities in Thailand.

An employee-owned company with over US$10 billion in sales, our client employs more than 1,400 people across over 100 offices and facilities in North America, South America, and Asia. For over 130 years, they have provided safe and reliable supply chain solutions for end-users and suppliers of grain, feed ingredients, and food ingredients globally. They are now embarking on their largest-ever international expansion across the Asian markets.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain the company accounting books, including preparing asset, liability, and capital account entries, reconciling accounts for month-end closing, and assisting in financial statement analysis and variance reporting.
• Track bank account balances and petty cash on a daily basis.
• Manage accounts payable by entering invoices into the system and creating payment instructions for final payment execution.
• Ensure compliance with Thailand's tax regulations, including VAT filing, withholding tax, corporate income tax, transfer pricing, and other statutory requirements.
• Assist the merchandiser in executing transactions, verifying invoice accuracy, and ensuring timely payments.
• Handle external and internal audits, ensuring the accuracy of financial records and accounting processes.
• Assist in the setup and implementation of IT systems, including localization of trading and accounting systems, and contribute to ongoing system enhancements.

Qualifications:

• University degree in Accounting
• At least 8 years of experience in an accounting role
• Proven experience with ERP systems like D365, SAP, or NetSuite
• Extensive knowledge of all accounting functions and their related internal controls, including petty cash, bank balance, accounts receivable, payable, fixed assets, and inventory management
• Sound knowledge of local laws, accounting standards, and local tax regulations
• Auditing skills, with the ability to research and reconcile difficult accounts
• Excellent written, verbal, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Fluent in written and spoken English
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Detail-oriented, organized, and able to meet tight deadlines
• Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Proactive and independent
