In 2021, we established Global Business Solutions (GBS) by leveraging a traditional shared service model to cover Finance and P&O (HR) transactional services. We are seeking a Chief Accountant to join our GBS organization — a dynamic and fast-evolving team at the heart of our company’s transformation journey.

All about the role:

As Chief Accountant, you will play an important governance role within the Group, ensuring that all Polish legal entities operate in full compliance with local legal requirements, Group policies, and financial governance standards.

The role serves as an extension of Group Finance, safeguarding strong governance, financial integrity, and risk management, while supporting business continuity and collaboration across divisions and functions.

The position will be based in Warsaw, Poland.

of Responsibilities:

  • Oversee full accounting operations for the Polish entities

  • Ensure accurate and timely preparation of statutory and management of financial reporting in accordance with local GAAP and IFRS.

  • Coordinate and manage tax compliance processes, including VAT, CIT, withholding tax, and local statutory filings.

  • Act as the primary finance representative and Country Officer for local legal and regulatory matters.

  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, corporate policies, and local legal requirements.

  • Cooperate with external auditors, tax advisors, and local authorities during audits and inspections.

  • Lead and support accounting process improvements, standardization, and automation initiatives within Polish entities

  • Manage balance sheet reconciliations and ensure accuracy of financial data.

  • Monitor cash flow, intercompany transactions, and treasury-related activities.

  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis processes.

  • Provide guidance and supervision to accounting team members and ensure high-quality service delivery.

  • Collaborate closely with regional and global finance teams, business stakeholders, HR, payroll, and procurement departments.

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of local accounting, tax, and regulatory requirements.

  • Participate in transition and migration projects related to finance and accounting processes.

Requirements:

  • University degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.

  • Minimum 5–7 years of experience in accounting, in a role with similar scope of responsibilities for Polish entities in the International company

  • Previous experience in a Chief Accountant, Country Officer, or similar senior finance role.

  • Strong knowledge of local accounting regulations, tax laws, and IFRS.

  • Experience in statutory reporting and cooperation with auditors and tax authorities.

  • Very good understanding of end-to-end accounting processes (GL, AP, AR, fixed assets, reporting).

  • Experience in leading teams and coordinating cross-functional projects.

  • Advanced knowledge of ERP systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics).

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

  • Very good English (written and spoken)

  • Professional accounting qualification (e.g. ACCA, CIMA, CPA, Polish Accountant Certificate) will be an advantage.
