Job Description

The Chief Accountant is responsible for overseeing the daily accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining strong internal controls, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and company policies. The role supports financial planning and decision-making while ensuring efficient financial management across the FMCG and Electronic business operations.

Main Responsibilities:

Financial Accounting

  • Oversee daily accounting operations, including General Ledger, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Fixed Assets, Cash, and Bank transactions.
  • Ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions.
  • Review and reconcile accounting records and supporting documents.

Financial Reporting

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
  • Ensure financial reports are accurate and submitted within required timelines.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.

Inventory & Cost Control

  • Monitor inventory valuation and costing for FMCG and Electronic products.
  • Coordinate regular inventory reconciliation and stock count activities.
  • Analyze inventory variances and recommend corrective actions.

Tax & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with Cambodian Accounting Standards, tax regulations, and company policies.
  • Prepare and review tax filings, including VAT, Withholding Tax, and Tax on Salary.
  • Coordinate with external auditors, tax authorities, and regulatory agencies.

Internal Control

  • Develop and maintain effective accounting procedures and internal controls.
  • Monitor compliance with financial policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Identify financial risks and recommend process improvements.

Team Leadership

  • Supervise and coach the accounting team.
  • Review staff performance and provide training and development.
  • Support cross-functional collaboration with other departments.
  • Perform other duties assigned by Management.

Main Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Professional certification such as ACCA, CPA, or CAT is an advantage.
  • Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Experience in the FMCG, Electronics, Retail, Distribution, or Trading industry is highly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, taxation, and internal controls.
  • Experience in inventory accounting, costing, and stock reconciliation.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong analytical, leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • High level of integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail.
  • Good command of English and Khmer, both written and spoken.
