Manulife IT Delivery Center (MITDC) Vietnam team has the mandate to ensure we deliver business and IT initiatives that enable Manulife’s regional strategic vision. We work across the different countries within the Asia region, partnering with country business units to develop business solutions that deliver value to our distributors and customers. We are involved in projects across multi-channel business and technology-based initiatives, and the work will accordingly involve extensive stakeholder management and collaboration across multiple functional teams.

At Manulife IT Delivery Center Vietnam (MITDC VN), we are seeking an experienced Chief Accountant who is committed to ensuring the effective execution of accounting, tax, and statutory reporting activities for the Vietnam entity. In this role, you will work closely with the Finance Director and regional finance teams to support accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement of finance processes.

Position Responsibilities:

Accounting & Financial Reporting Support

• Prepare accounting records, journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations in line with Vietnam Accounting Standards (VAS).
• Support month-end and year-end closing activities in coordination with the Finance Director and Chengdu finance team.
• Prepare statutory financial statements and supporting schedules for review.
• Coordinate data submission for group reporting and consolidation.
• Support and coordinate bank receipt and payment processes, including foreign exchange (FX) receipts and payments, in compliance with internal policies and local regulations.

Tax & Statutory Reporting Coordination

• Prepare and submit regular tax filings (VAT, CIT, PIT, etc.).
• Coordinate tax calculations and adjustments with regional finance.
• Act as local point of contact for tax authorities under finance leadership guidance.
• Monitor regulatory changes and communicate impacts.

Audit & Compliance Support

• Support statutory, internal, and external audits.
• Prepare audit documentation and explanations.
• Assist with remediation of audit observations.

Regional & Local Collaboration

• Work closely with Finance Director and Chengdu finance team.
• Provide local accounting and regulatory input.
• Participate in regional finance initiatives.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.

• Vietnam Chief Accountant Certificate (mandatory).

• 2–4 years of experience in Chief Accountant role, preferably in multinational companies.

• Proficient English and strong collaboration skills.
